Hey everyone! So I’m working on a Sociology project about subculture. I decided to do Transformers, as we are technically a subculture. My only question is do we have any iconic gestures with a meaning behind them? (ex. The Vulcan Salute/“Live Long and Prosper”)
Umm, the cybertronian language and slang like slag or Junkions ( I don't know anything about sociology)
Gestures? Not really, but the TF fandom has a shitload of common appropriated or invented terms with specific context. Kibble, Bricks, Trukk not Munky, True Fan, etc.
These are all great! Although I should have specified, PHYSICAL gestures. Like if someone made a gesture out in public, though they don’t wear any Transformers match, you’d know they’re a fan based on the gesture they’re making. (with their hands)
OP specifically: lowering the head, putting their fists between their weist and uniting their legs. doing a transformation sound.
Oh, the arguing online gesture only turns into a physical gesture when the arguments are in-person at conventions... But no, to answer your question there's no secret handshake or gangsigns you show someone to let them known you're a true child of Primus. We aren't trekkies or the van buren boys.
They'd have to be extremely flexible with their spine I suppose. I've never seen anyone try to imitate Prime's transformation without some kind of costume. But if it's out in public, I can only imagine they'd probably end up looking like this: Ya know? Coz I can't imagine anyone's head being able to...rotate backwards into their torso...
