We know quite a bit despite what Hasbro's shown us. And given what we've seen I'd be surprised if Shockwave was just a straight figure with no "gimmick" to him. And it's just really really weird that they didn't show us a *single* Decepticon. It reminds me of when we got our first official glimpse of PotP and Hasbro remained completely mum on the combining aspect despite the ports and pegs being clearly visible.
What if Shockwave's gimmick was a battle platform? Kind of like in DOTM but with no tentacles.
That would actually work really well with the PotP/Siege leader model we've seen.
G1-ish Shockwave that forms the turret of a larger Cybertronian tank made out of armor.
The lack of actual Siege news/ leaks/ revelas is getting irritating...
It would be a nice precursor to Thunderclash's gimmick, trailer that becomes a large weapons platform.
I'm pretty sure that was just a Cybertronian insect creature thing that Shockwave experimented on, not a battle platform.
I was thinking along the lines of IDW:
Shockwave's Onyx Prime suit
Surefire way to keep me from buying it.
I don't think we're getting Onyx Prime...it's a mystery to me still. It would have to be more G1-ish.
I would be good with this alt...
Ooohhh....I found this. I think something that looks like this is a possibility.
But maybe like this...
With this inside...
I hope we get to see some pics soon. As weird as it sounds I am excited for this new line... just for a new Flywheels figure. I know right?! Flywheels of all bots!!
I would love for Shockwave to have a Longarm Prime form. But it’s unlikely to happen. Though with Ultra Magnus having a RID nod and Hound having a Cybertron Hot Shot head in the art, nods to other continuities aren’t out of the question.
You suppose all Decepticons have Autobot modes? Running with the Sunbow thing, the Decepticons are all Autobot converts, right?
Doesn’t that directly contradict their military hardware and consumer goods separation from sunbow?
Sunbow contradicted Sunbow, particularly on the origins of the war. Part of the fun of a reboot is you have all this raw material and just making sense of how it relates is practically creative by itself.
There was the allegience altering Robo Smasher device from “The Secret of Omega Supreme” where it was implied that Megatron created most or all of the Decepticons by reprogramming Autobots.

Now, if you’re doing something modern, particularly with the new IDW continuity, maybe you add a bit of moral complexity by having Megatron actually do a sales pitch on the Decepticons, framing people for crimes, emotionally manipulating them, etc.
And then maybe they get a reformat/upgrade like the Maximal or Predacon reformatting once they sell their soul to the cause.
Also: Probably not LIKELY but if Prowl was in law enforcement before the Quintessons left, I’d really like it if he’s a Sharkticon. The chest hood could be a Sharkticon face and his shoulder doors could be a fin.
I guess then Bluestreak would be a stealth unit Sharkticon and Smokescreen would maybe be a Piranhacon/distraction specialist with a bright red and blue tropical fish deco?
Kind of a way to have some non-cars in there and seed some Quintesson and/or Seacon lore.
Unless it’s already the plan, probably too late. But I can look at Prowl’s Siege art and see a Sharkticon transformation as a remote possibility.
Oh, please, no!
(I see where you're going with the idea, but...no. I'd say keep that one for your headcanon, I'm not trying to "put you down" or anything, I just don't like the idea of Hasbro doing that...)
The robosmasher was a horrible, horrible, horrible idea.
yes, sunbow contradicted itself constantly, but in cases like that with fiction the newer canon typically overwrites the older canon. the quintesson origin came after the robosmasher didnt it?
Almost got me there. I thought the last picture was the Leader Class Shockwave.
