Didn’t some of the original images include a diaclone that was blue?

Yes, there was a blue Diaclone version, and it was included in the old catalog images but that version was never released in G1.

Some toys, like the Kreon, Binaltech, Q-Transformers and Combiner Wars versions of Bluestreak homaged the blue Bluestreak.

There was even a Masterpiece version by Takara dubbed MP-18B called Bluestreak which was doubly funny since Japan calls him Streak, so MP-18B was a blue Streak. (Ba-dum, tish!)

That's good to know. I've avoided their stuff since I assumed it was 3D.

Exactly. It refers to the phrase, "talk a blue streak". Maybe they chose it before using the grey color scheme, but it doesn't necessarily mean anything about him being blue.

Memory is a tricky thing, and I am sure that some people think that they really remember it existing

The 1984 catalog, his own packaging (package art, toy photos) and his own instructions all depicted the blue Diaclone color scheme. Apparently Hasbro had originally planned to use that color scheme, but then decided to change it at the last moment, just like Sunstreaker/"Spinout" would have originally been a yellow "New Countach" (yellow Sideswipe/"Tigertrack") and Sideswipe would have been a red Countach with exposed rear supercharger (red Sunstreaker).

Chances are Budiansky looked at the toy's original colors and thought, "it's blue, so how about 'Bluestreak'?" Then he wrote a bio, included that bit about "talking like a blue streak", and then Hasbro changed the toys colors.

I know people like to argue with the bio, but the bio was likely written after the name had been selected, rather than the other way round.

They milk a mold that they can who wouldn't? I won't be surprised if we get every other seeker in existence with a Slipstream down the line as a heavy retool. Nemesis prime for sure with the Voyager mold. Already got 3 of the Sideswipe. I am thinking that maybe we get a bulkhead with Hound? Just saying there are options. Even Reflektor has a hint of getting something. Since the Hasbro site has a Reflektor with all its add ons attached, being a button side sleeve, flash and viewfinder. While clearly "from the pegholes it is the Reflektor we get. So perhaps a exclusive set. In it's G1 toy colors. Or we get the parts as add-on like a deluxe weaponizer which can turn into those 3 parts. Who knows.
Hasbro practically lives on retools and repaints. MLP is only repaints of the same damn figure in every color of the rainbow.

I realize that, which is why I said 'released in G1'. :thumb

For sure, there are still posts from people swearing they saw a blue Bluestreak on shelves, or their friend had one but there's never been any evidence to prove it.

There’s a section of that debate on tfwiki. It doesn’t help that hasbro has embraced it with doing deco of later bluestreaks.

I think it probably comes down to when Bob was creating everyone he was probably handed a photo of the diaclone one or it was one of the figures he was given in a box

Are there, though? I've never seen those claims first hand, only from people who had allegedly seen them. Are we sure that "people believe Blue Bluestreak was real" isn't the actual myth these days?

All the claims have been alleged. I don't have the time or patience to track down any posts and link to it, but I've even seen someone talking about it within the last few months. I realize that's an alleged claim about an alleged claim.

Ah, it's ladypapa. eBay user who often has early access to Hasbro's stock photo library.

And yes indeed, the packaging now has five languages: English, French, German, Spanish and Portuguese. Apparently Hasbro finally created one single worldwide packaging type.

I like the cut of Siege Prowl's jib just fine, and at this point this must\'ve been said hundreds of times, but it\'s crazy how much better this mold looks with Bluestreak\'s colors.

    No problem.

It looks like the 35th anniversary figures will just continue using the regular siege numbering system. so if Bluestreak is # 64, #'s 52-63 of siege are a mystery. leaving another 13 siege figures to be officially revealed.
