I'd still play it if it were active, or simply had bots so that I can play offline. Two of my favourite games last gen are still playable because of bots.

They can still be used in the campaign which was very smart of Luxoflux and really thoughtful towards the player.

The game has full lobbies sometimes on weekends. Me and the top players would be on the game consistently as well. ROTF was almost, if not more active than WFC and that game is infested with cheaters.

It's the end of an era. ROTF online was one of the funnest times I ever had with a TF game. FoC was the best period

I just played a full match on FOC for PC. Seems either the quarantine or the announcement revived it here :)

WFC was an amazing game, ahead of its time with really fun multiplayer.

Too bad they listened to the whiners with the mp on FOC and nerfed all the best aspects. Campaign was still good but mp was like every other plain jane shooter.

Id shell out some cash tho for a WFC/FOC 4k multipack tho. Just would be cool if they had a mp option in FOC to play WFC style, along with some other new twists and quality of life updates.

Well that sucks. No more firefight mode either. I'm forgetting what they called it. I can't remember if you could still play that with some friends offline. This is probably something to do with Activision and Hasbro rather than Xbox and Sony.

And just wait for it kids when sometime in the future servers begin to get shut down for all of these online only games and all of that stuff you collected is worthless. All of your time flushed.

I preferred WFC over FOC. The co-op campaign and the multiplayer had a lot of mini flourishes that was stripped in the sequel. I loved the booby trapping of a weapon.

Man time is going so fast!  Seems like spring/summer of 2009 was yesterday...I remember being so disappointed in the PS2 ROTF game so much, I tried to return it but they wouldn\'t take it back.  I threw it out of the t-tops of my Trans Am when I pulled into my driveway.  The PS3 version looked so fun.

Man, even tho the movie and game was such a disappointment, I have fond memories of chatting up with fans about how ROTF would be, watching toy leak reviews on YouTube by Peaugh and others.

If you're able to play via the same system, it should still work.

As much as I hate to admit it, I agree. There was alot that WFC did good but FoC downgraded those things.

Looks like WFC, FOC, and ROTDS are all still up on PS3.

Damn. I knew the time would come, but this is def the end of an era. WFC was what got me into collecting Transformers as an adult. Granted I haven't played either in awhile, but it was nice to know I could go back to it every now and then. This was the only multiplayer I ever really enjoyed. It was so dynamic, and the bot and alt-mode designs were really fantastic! RIP the best Transformers video game series. There was none like it before and there hasn't been any since.

Side note, could Activision have chosen a worse time?

About half an hour before I read this news I was thinking about all the stuff I'd like to do with an online TF 3PS. All the best TF games except Devastation seem to be that, and even that has some elements of it. Armada, War For Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron, all brilliant.
From their perspective it's a great time to shut down old games they don't have the rights for, no one plays anymore and most importantly, don't have microtransactions in them.

Shame I never managed to get all the trophies, but I enjoyed playing Jazz! Loved ROTF the Game in comparison to the movie, and best of all, most of the movie voice actors are in it!
