unlikely. actors obviously don't need any expensive CGI so having an actor actually play one of them is much cheaper.

Maybe the people who love the movie should just realize that not everyone likes garbage with names slapped on it? Seriously, how can people look at the still frame seen in the frontpage image for this thread and think that's a TF? I just wanted a movie where characters were representative of their namesakes. We only really get one shot at a TF movie franchise and from the first one, Bay ruined it. He took TF's and made them very generic, not all that similar to the names slapped on them, and they couldn't even do little things like give them good heads or character faithful paint jobs.

I'm fine if somebody truly likes what they see, but I don't and I have just as much right to post here saying I don't as you posting that you do. If you don't like that fact, then just go away b/c that's how message boards work.

Funnily enough, G1 was just a bunch of random Japanese robots from several toylines that had little to do with each other.

Basically *any* sort of robot can be a Transformer so long as it changes forms (and even that rule can be bent.)

 

Age isn't the issue here. I had moved on from the toys before these Pretenders were even released - so really, I'm too old to remember them, if anything. And the only "issue" I have is that the Decepticons are supposed to be a bunch of badasses who don't really give a damn. So having one disguised as a sorority sister seems a little out of place.

 

Brute force (Megatron's preference) got them nowhere last time and so this time they're targeting the Autobots' human friends with subterfuge.


Read IDW's Infiltration and Escalation storylines, where the G1 Decepticons (mostly) operate under a blanket of secrecy on Earth, using human fascimiles to infiltrate our establishment. The fact of the matter is, in nearly all Transformers storylines, Decepticons are far too few in number to conquer Earth using traditional means, especially factoring in the G1 comic/2007 movie Decepticon vulnerability to conventional Earth weapons. They can't be "badasses who don't really give a damn" because they'll be killed. They'll cause some damage before they go down, but organised human resistance would destroy them, which was central to how the Decepticons were defeated in the first movie.
