You put too much confidence in the people working for the film.

Nice if it's real though. Still hate his duck lips but better

about nightbird, if only her chest transformed a little bit more, , from the pic of the underside of the vehicle mode it looks like a single pin connects the front to the hood, but i doubt i has anything to do with transformation, but still i kinda hope if not officially that one can "mod" it to at least rotate because seriously it looks so boring
also, the lower legs have the joint but thei put a tab to prevent them to go full "chicken leg" wtf hasbro, do not limit us like that
the last thing i dont like is that she has 2 purple colors , face and hood has some violet and everything else is PURPLE, why not use a single shade and thats it, that would have been way better in my opinion

How in the world do they nail the G1 designs in BB, nail every single Beast Wars design, nail Arcee, Prime, Bee...and then absolutely fumble Wheeljack who ALREADY HAD A GOOD DESIGN

Please put someone in charge of these movies who gives a shit ala Travis Knight.

I'm glad someone else noticed it. Looks like some nerd trying to do his best cosplay of Crosshair.

This sounds way too reasonable. I would much rather make knee-jerk reactions and live my life in a state of outrage.

The VFX studio doesn't design the characters.

You mean the 3 time Academy Award winning studio isn’t any good at VFX?

No. I’m not wasting my money just to see how a certain character acts in a movie I don’t care about lol. The amount of money it would probably cost to see this popcorn movie I could probably spend on a really good manga instead.

I mean, I'm sure you can find salty fans in all fandoms, but I've read untold thousands of Marvel comics in my life and the MCU consistently amazes me with how faithfully it sticks to the spirit of the comic designs. And at least the other comic fans I've talked to all feel the same way. As I said, they tweak to make stuff work in live action, but they're miles away from the "All the X-Men need to wear black leather, because no one could take colorful comic book costumes seriously" school of thought.

And to me the TF movies have always felt like they come from the "X-Men in black leather" side of the fence. There's always been this sense that of course they can't take direct inspiration from those dumb 80s toy and cartoon designs, who could ever take those seriously?

They actually have a fair amount of day over designs.
3 awards for organic animals. This studio’s never done robots, in any film, beyond simplistic drones. Robots are a vastly different thing to design, render and rig than animals.

For a moment, I didn't realise these were movie designs and I must say, I can dig Wheeljack's body design as a novelty kombi-former. I've not really been bothered by nameslaps since the first move, either. The head though, It just detracts from all the positives and seems mean spirited rather than representative. We've had so many cool visor designs over the years, why do we fall back into caricature over character?

Even if it is a novel way to stow the 'ears', its execution is not good at all.

While it's generally garbage in, garbage out, ILM are excellent turd-polishers.

...but they're not. Like I said, they nailed every single other character except one who already had a good existing model. Even Nightbird is reminiscent of her namesake.
