Well that does kill the buzz a little for the movie for me. I enjoyed Bumblebee overall, mostly the designs, like others said we’re back at name slapping. Why ? I don’t know who’s that guy, but that’s not Wheeljack. I’m honna call him Nerdotron or something. I’d rather him be a new character, but he’d still be an ugly design anyway. I don’t understand how can Prime and Arcee be new designs while still looking like their G1 self and for Wheeljack they just said « fuck it »

Maybe if we make enough noise, they will pull a Sonic and cgi change him in the movie.

 

Wheeljack looks like absolute shit, they should not have strayed from the G1 design if they're going to keep making Wheeljack look this awful. Nightbird's not looking much better, but I hope her Studio Series figure can at least salvage the design.

 

Instead of Transform and Roll out, he... convert safely and step out?

Also, instead of blowing half of his inventions, he is... blowing some bubble gum.

 

So basically, we're back to the Bayverse era of treating Transformers like a joke.

 

Nightbird looks absolutely incredible and although I much prefer BBM Wheeljack, this still looks like a fun design in its own right (to me it will just be a new character). VERY happy to see real vehicle part chests!

I will say that with every reveal, Bumblebee's played out design looks even more boring. Purge that dude of his Bay-ness for the love of Pete.

 

So they ditched Jackie's BB design for... Bald guy wearing aviator goggles? Wtf?

Remember when wheeljack looked like an emo sideswipe and was a decepticon? No
What about when inferno wasnt a firetruck but a psycho FIREANT predacon that though MEGATRON was his queen that he had to defend
Or when rampage was an crab tank with huge kibble on his back, a taste for violence and a mouth only comparable to bayverse shockwave,
What about when megatron was a black armored demon looking robot that didnt know what alt mode he wanted to be
Or when scavenger was a bonecrusher looking dude that was an autobot and was the old friend and mentor to optimus, or cyclonus was an unhinged blue helicopter, or scattorshot was a blue military truck with missiles
So many characters that used a name, looked like the qrong character or someone new that looked like nobody else, people didnt love them because of GEEWUN, rhey loved them because either good DESIGNS, good characters or good figures or sometimes more than 2 of those at the same time, if this wheeljack ends up being a bad character, well, he can also be, but WHY DOES HE HAVE TO BEE AN EXACT COPY OF HIS G1 SELF
Note, g1 didnt have as many good chafacters either, some didnt even had characters at all
