You know, for Mirage being the next big autobot for this film, we sure arent seeing a lot of him merch wise or even news wise

 

I'm guessing "Core" means mainline?

It takes time to reach perfection, and Mirage's toys should be nothing less

 

I hope Optimus gets a Beast Mode in the movie.

That's interesting. We also had a listing for a Beast Mode Bumblebee so this wasn't really surprising to me.

The theory I have is: these new Beast Mode figures don't have actual animal forms. Instead they will be like the Knight Armour figures from TLK, but instead of knight themed armour being activated it's more of beast-themed armour.
Maybe in this case we'll get Bumblebee with a cheetah-themed battlemask and armour which can be activated. Optimus probably will have a gorilla-themed battlemask and some huuuge fists that fold out when activated.

Again, it's all just a theory I have about these new Beast Mode gimmick toys. Personally I am more interested in the Weaponizer, Power Combiner and Core Deluxe/Voyager lines.

 

The news could sound so nice but it’s not.

I sadly remember the days before CHPS, the days of official high quality products but since the cheap hollow plastic syndrome, and its last yellowing variant, these announcements are very hollow (just like CHPS).

 

I think these “Beast Mode” figures are just the upgraded alt-mode forms of Bumblebee and Optimus from the movie.


This is mostly likely “Beast Mode Optimus”.

Of course they reuse the word core. And at the SAME TIME it means something else to transformers. How fun.

They're gonna call the next movie Beast Wars aren't they? Someone at Hasbro needs to get slapped.

What comes next is actually a good question. Back when they had the “Writers Room” before TLK came out, they brainstormed a few ideas for future films, but the ones that stuck were a WWII Bumblebee prequel(which TLK set up, but having it be set in WWII was dropped by Knight as was the alternate opening of the film set in Vietnam(which is why Blitzwing turns into an F4)).

Then they had decided that would lead into a Beast Wars movie, but the idea at the time was that it all the Beasts would be on a Skull Island rip-off.


And they wanted to do a movie focusing on Optimus Prime similar to Bumblebee, however, those last two ideas seemingly got rolled into one and we now have a Beast Wars movie that, per Steven Caple Jr’s comments, Optimus is the main character of.

It’s kinda interesting how they more or less followed the same basic idea they came up with way back then, but changed all the details of it(undoubtely because of TLK’s failure and BB’s success). But now we don’t know where they will go…. With the exception that they are setting up Unicron again apperently as it has been confirmed

that Scourge and the Terrorcons are servants of Unicron and are after “Transwarp Keys”, objects capable of transporting objects through time and space. Objects the Maximals are protecting.

“TF One” is supposed to be the next movie, and that’s also been in development since the writing room era in some form or fashion. I wonder why there’s no mock-up art of that out there

\"Core Boys\" sounds like a codename for the mainline. I doubt it\'ll actually be called that since we know Nightbird is going to have a deluxe figure in that line as well as a Studio Series figure.
