I want to see Mainline Optimus, Rhinox, and Primal so bad. I hope Primal is an awesome retool of Kingdom Primal with a movie monke mode and a classic but stylized robot mode. Same for Rhinox.

It’ll be a new mold, but reuse engineering cues. And I wouldn’t be suprised if the robot mode looks like the gimmick toy that leaked in April last year.

Prime will probably be like the Smash Changer and leaked gimmick toy and have the Beast Hunters alt mode.

Rhinox I’m curious about also for both mainline and SS.

Hmmmmmmmmmm, what it Mainline Optimus is a Legacy Bulkhead retool? That would explain why that mold is so Optimus-like.

No. Shared engineering maybe, but retool nope.

Semantics, dude. Retool/shared engineering. Everyone uses the term retool even if it isn’t 100% accurate because they do actual retool the tooling on the physical injection mold.

Again, had the film come out last year as intended, we’d be seeing a LOT of those gimmick lines winding down, if not outright clearanced out. And for its modest nature, the Bumblebee line had a pretty robust toy line, and Rise of the Beasts was seemingly designed go back to those massive Bayhem movies with large casts that put the franchise on the map to begin with.

We also don’t know for sure how “final” any design is short of Cheetor and Primal’s hero shots in the trailer. It is not uncommon at ALL for marketing (like those Zoo standees) to use “not quite final” material. And year delay or not, nobody wants to spend the money in remaking marketing material just because they are just a bit off from the final version. Hell, Bumblebee saw a fairly drastic redesign in his film, but all the marketing and toys (even Studio Series) largely stuck with the preliminary version.

The fact Hasbro had been willing to hold off on Studio Series for a year to begin with says that they were aiming for more accurate releases. Regardless of the differences, I think most of the figures are going to be “close enough” given the constraints of a mass market toy line.

Actually, these are probably more akin to the “main line styled” deluxes we started getting with Cyberverse. Something in the same aesthetic as the “main line”, offering a more “traditional” Transformers offering, but not QUITE up the “collector standard” set by Studio Series. But because these are based on a live action film, the aesthetic is basically the same as Studio Series.

Entertainment Earth’s “Drop Zone” strongly implies that Hasbro will be opening preorders by the end the of month.

I will say while not having finalized CGI models to use I will say I think they all look better than the early BBM SS stuff did or at least are a little more accurate than they where. If the film wasn't delayed these definitely would have been more accurate than they already are.

Yup that was the original plan, mainline toys to coincide with the release of the movie in 2022 then in 2023 SS figures that would be able to use the final CAD/CGI files to be more accurate, and obviously, that didn't stick.

They would have, because ideally the designs would've been finalized earlier in the movie's production, meaning Hasbro could've still had access to final art/renders to go off of. The movie's delay likely resulted in designs continuing to change past the original release date.

Also figures don't always take 1-2 years to produce from initial design. Some of the turnovers can be faster than that, even for SS. Had the movie not been delayed the SS figures could've still ended up based on final designs. (especially if things like sculpted details could be tweaked, like how TF07 Megatron got new heads for his toys relatively late into production when the character was redesigned)

There were even more listings but Hasbro has seemingly taken most of them down...

Nice will be interesting to see it. And same, I don't completely hate the trailer design (and hopefully the colors and some things look better as things go on) but no doubt that the Control Art is better.

You got any idea what will be up for pre-order this Tuesday besides Mainline Cheetor and Airazor?
