Because she doesn’t at all match the character’s design. The wheel placement is wrong, as are the proportions. She isn’t a good motorcycle bot, that’s the thing.

She is the right colours. And the head looks decently accurate. Aside from that they really didn’t do a good job at all.

 

Which while more accurate than a Mainline toy is the cost of working off of early cgi renders and concept art for the SS stuff. Things can change from then.

 

Found this a little bit ago in the comments of the post. I’m curious as to what he means by “technically”.

Ideally it’d be nice if the wheel was attached via a peg and removing it could allow for the front cycle kibble on her back to be pushed up further to sit more flush with the back of the figure. I could care less about parts forming, especially at this scale, so fingers crossed it’s as simple and easy as this.

 

Stop looking at her from the side. She's incredibly accurate for her size class and the wheel placement is a mix of both onscreen wheel placements

If only they'd been allowed to show the actual render next to the toy design I'm sure you'd eat your words big time

This figure is a Love letter to everyone wanting a good balance between scale and accuracy. Check out that sweet Bike mode. It's gonna look so awesome with the other figures. IMO the best Arcee with an earthmode

I feel like if we get a Deluxe ROTB Arcee down the line I feel like the scale will still be about the same if not slightly bigger. I don’t want it to be normal size even if it was a Deluxe (don’t want it to be normal sized like Legacy Prowl or Arcee).

 

What are you guys even talking about. She's a 100% accurate minus the usual scale and transformation compromises
Chest, head, shoulders, back kibble (not the Bike stuff), lower legs is all spot on if you compare to the trailer

 

She’s very (and I mean very) close but not 1:1. My only real complaint is I wish she had two wheel halfs on her back.

I definitely can chalk this up to just the design changing since the figure was made (the face is not all pink in the film also). Because I remember concept art description said wheels on her feet and none on her back. But that clearly changed.

She’s not bad at all really just could be done slightly better.

 

Uh, no? I won't? If they toy is only "good enough" from literally just the front angle, then that's not a very good toy now is it? It's impossible not to see the kibble from anything other than a depthless front view, but this is a three-dimensional world we live in.

Luckily the TFW news page went ahead and included a shot of Arcee from the trailer to show just how inaccurate this toy is.   So no, no words being eaten. The kibble isn't even accurate to the scene where she's "rollerblading" because in that shot she has both heels, one in each leg, rather than one wheel split and one on her back. Even giving this toy the benefit of that scene it's still not accurate.

The Legends class TFA Prowl could get both wheels into his legs. Armada Sideways could get both wheels on the back. There's no reason this figure couldn't have picked one or the other and pulled it off.

This seems rather hyperbolic. If it's a love letter than it's been written in crayon on the back of a napkin, because it's not very effective.

No attempt was made at matching the onscreen kibble placement. This wouldn't be so egregious if the wheels weren't the only clearly identifiable piece of the motorcycle on her design and the defining characteristic of her silhouette. It's like if they made a G1 Starscream toy where the wings were in his legs and not his back.

I can accept this as what went wrong. It still doesn't make this figure accurate, though, and definitely not a "love letter to accuracy." Also doesn't make me any more willing to get it, either.

You're probably exactly right though, it just doesn't necessarily make the end result any better.

Love the core Arcee, but the motorcycle front on her back just protude too much tbh, I wish it could collapse a little more.

She looks good I just really wish the back kibble was on a mushroom peg so it could be easily removed to clean up the back in robot mode but unfortunately there's no getting rid of that. Well, hopefully we can get a deluxe ss figure of her at some point, maybe even an extensive retool of her Bumblebee movie figure.

 

Mirage I'm almost certain will be, just judging by the fact that Porsche uploaded the trailer to their YouTube channel.

 

Forgot that yeah then that is possible. And if we do for a G1 side of things it means a G1 MP Jazz might happen.
