No I mean that regardless if it's good ( as in not terrible), I don't want another bayverse situation. And I'll be skeptical until maybe even a rewatch to fully form an opinion.

His problem. What do I have to do with what Bay thinks? In my view and of many fans it worked well

So Optimus Prime and Optimus Primal are going to be two distinct characters?

In terms of the Bumblebee movie and RotB’s relation to the canon of the Bayverse films,
they could probably treat it like former Aligned Continuity where the Cybertron games, Prime/ RID, Rescue Bots, and etc were all vaguely part of the same continuity,
but each were clearly separate universes with different aesthetics, story retcons, and etc.
They were connected, but also not.

Maybe the events of the Bayverse films stripped down to their most basic form happen later in the future of these reboot films, except things are significantly different.
This way, the Bay films are still somewhat treated as relevant for the general audience and Lorenzo,
but Hasbro/ filmmakers going forward aren’t 100% beholden to what happened in those.

Imagine if the next movie ends up being the traditional Autobots vs. Decepticons on Earth.

    Set in 2007.

I like that idea if they ever make a decision on if these movies are part of the Bayverse or not. That’s probably one of the only scenarios where I’d be okay with Megatron’s appearance being saved for a later film.

Glad to see they keeping it Bay style more or less and aligning it with the 2007 continuity. To me they should have left geewun Arcee out since her look had already been established in ROTF. Mybe they can blow her to bits and somehow explain how she gets reformated into  her unicycle robot mode.

Unlikely. Good chance they’re just keeping it as “possibly” part of the Bayverse to see if BB wasn’t an outlier and that people are actually interested in a big budget Transformers movie again after the disaster of TLK that almost left them financially ruined.

If it is another flop, they’ll probably throw it with the Bayverse and pull a Batman by not making Transformer movies for a decade before a hard reboot. If this movie is a success, they’ll probably never outright confirm it as a reboot, but they will treat it as one.

Thinking about the time frame between BB and ROTB of 7/8 years, I'm surprised no one has thought that they could do the same for a ROTB sequel, which would set it in 2005.

Well I can hope cant I ? Bayverse was awesome to the non-movie snob portion of the fandom.
