"Transformers always had a very special relationship with China"

    Always?!?

    As in "Since Forever" ?!?!?

    Where?

More like it NEVER had a special relationship with China other than pander to their audience by filming some Bayverse stuff there.

Did G1 had a special relationship with China? NOPE

Did Beast Wars had a special relationship with China? NOPE

Jeez... What a load of crap.

Transformers Rise of the Hollow Toys.

P.S. Empty TFs boxes weigh more than the toys.

Fun thought! I was thinking about the Off Road Bumblebee design and got to thinking how it would be cool if the alternate modes were less static than previous iterations.

Like Bumblebee needs to go off road so he just adjusts his alternative mode accordingly on the fly. Of course this will be cool and expensive at the same time for us tpy collectors :lol .

With the introduction of the new Terrorcons and them being a seperate "tribe" I'm now questioning different subgroups that appeared in the previous films, other parts of the franchise yet to jump to live action, and those future teams that could still appear in the movies. For instance, could the Dinobots and Constructicons be considered separate tribes from the Autobots and Decepticons, but then we saw, at the least the Dinobots consolidation and joining the Autobots' tribe, through assimilating, like when a foreigner now consider themselves a member of their new nation, or when someone changes religion or political affiliation joining that "tribe".

And would future appearances from the Stunticons and Aerialbots be considered seperates tribes that joined the Autobots or Decepticons. Like the four Dinobots joined the Autobots, but would a Dinobot, say a Live Action Scowl (RID 2015), join the Decepticons. Like would flying Autobots like Powerglide be considered a member of the tribe, Aerialbots, like his Combiner Wars toy I think made him an Aerialbot, but then becomes an Autobot? Or if a new original character like Blackjack, a member of the Stunticon tribe, then join the Decepticons' tribe.

It should be noted in the Live Action Universe most of the Transformers (Autobots and Decepticons) were only considered Autobots, confirmed when Optimus first introduces himself to Sam, as Autonomous Robotic Organisms or Autobots for short and possibly Shockwave having an Autobots symbol that may be intentional, I don't know maybe we'll see in the Cybertron prequel, but then The Fallen created the two sects and passed that ideal to Megatron to carry the legacy of that separate tribe to branch away from The Autobots (Dynasty of Primes in particular) idealogue in the modern age of Cybertronians. I do wonder if the Terrorcons came after The Decepticons, like how The Decepticons branched off of the Autobots, the Terrorcons branched off from The Decepticons?

Guys, we need to start making noise for Gary Chalk. I remember it was fan voices that got us Peter Cullen back in 2007. We need to do the same for Chalk! Unless you want another tragedy like the Kingdom Primal.

There's not going to be a tragedy like Kingdom Primal, Paramount will at least get VAs who know what they're doing.

Yeah, that had me thinking, how did they pick that guy, and how much are they paying him? And did any of them ever watch the original Beast Wars?

Yeah, unlike recent animated productions, the Transformers movies have always delivered in the voice acting department.

Even if it's not Chalk it will be a competent professional doing the role.

I want to hear Prime (Cullen) talking to Primal (Chalk) in live action! And I want to see and hear Ironhide (Cullen) fighting with Rhinox (Richard Newman) to a stalemate, then being seperated by Bumblebee and Cheetor.

It’s wild that in four years, we’ve gone from The Last Knight to G1 Optimus Prime having philosophical conversations with Optimus Primal.

Trukk and Munkk uniting as one Primal Prime to unify the fandom.

It fails horrifically and actual war breaks out between G1 and BW fans. The casualties are incalculable. All the remains is Animated because even the animated fans forgot about it and left it alone

0% interest in this film. Nothing about it sounds even remotely interesting, and the re-appropriation of well-known characters and factions just feels contrived...and this is coming from someone who was open-minded about new, fresh takes in these films. Domestically, Transformers has been dropping in sales since the 2nd film, and I suspect this will continue until there\'s an official reboot and/or a \"return to form\", i.e. a more classic take w/a new vision and cohesive story/universe.

Also, this franchise needs more investment in developing the robot characters and not making their actions dependent upon the humans to save them. Transformers has survived for decades as a franchise because people love the bots and their struggles, not the humans.

    In the meantime, hard pass.

While I'm interested to see what they do with this film, I will agree with you that people get interested in the bots and want to see them as the main characters. While Bumblebee did much better at that than the Bay films did, there's always this push to be human centric in media that screams somebody in the creative management teams doesn't understand that the bots ARE human in character depth. If they aren't, what's the point?

I sincerely hope Paramount has contacted Gary and the old BW cast to reprise their old roles for this film. Don’t make the same mistake Kingdom is doing.

Agreed with all that we absolutely need the OG BW voice cast back. Having Peter Cullen and Gary Chalk have a philosophical discussion about leadership and living among humans would be the most epic thing ever.

i have 2 predictions about the toyline:

    1. we'll see 1 or more ss86 hotrod style voyagers, bumblebee is a likely candidate seeing how much he sells and might make sense depending on how larger wheels and the windshield cage
    2. i could be misremembering but i think i remember it being said some of the ss line would tie into a new gimmick line and i think it's that the beast wars characters will feature organic bodies but have an exoskeleton gimmick, maybe swappable parts or something.

My only other G1 special requests are Cybertron as Primus and Unicron not as Earth, Orion Pax upgraded to Prime, and Wheeljack makes the Dinobots. And give me some Vector Sigma and/or as much of that stuff that wasn't made better in another property. I don't accept that just because a brand drifted along making mistakes to survive property-to-property that confuse the identity of their characters should get an automatic pass or used as a model to be followed for an organized future of the brand. But, that chaos has created some cool stuff, and each property has brought its fans into the TF fandom at large and that's awesome. Even Michael Bay gets credit for raising the profile of the brand to where it is now. I just want to see them patiently invest in something good that honors as much of the past as makes sense. The DCEU rushed to get the JL together and the whole pile of shit reeks, but at least forming the league was supposed to happen per nearly all versions of JL comics (plus minus the Cyborg/Martian Manhunter roster change). This movie feels just like they worked backwards from a poster with Prime and Primal back-to-back.
