Oh nice, continuation to the Bay films.
Bring on the toys!
They are letting it exist in the Bay Timeline.
Such a mistake. Just let the Bayverse die.
They're probably nervous to declare the Bayverse dead and gone because they don't want to risk alienating people involved with those in case they need them later. And there are fans specifically of the Bayverse stuff that are already displeased with the changes made for Bee Movie that would likely completely ditch the films if they weren't trying to blend the two continuities together.
Hell, look at how many people now upon seeing the initial bot list immediately freaked out about the lack of Megatron.
So when are the Go-Bots coming to the movies?
I like the idea that the Decepticons may not even show up at all here, kind of like Thanos. I imagine if they did what Marvel did and make Megatron AND the Decepticons as "Avenger level threats" then this could be really cool. Though with 6 films under Paramount's belt I think they shouldn't withhold them for too long and bore everyone.
Even as a reboot, most people will be confused why Megatron isn't there yet, but the right amount of buildup could make for an interesting intro in the new timeline.
This sounds like simultaneously the coolest and most absurd thing ever. I love it.
I'll be happy with either.
Gotta say... I L-O-V-E the idea of Beast Wars making an appearance in the TF films. I can't wait to see the designs and obviously the eventual film.
Given that Bumblebee was quality, I'm optimistic...but man, it sounds like they're trying to introduce a whole lot in one film in a way that the original Bay movies did. Increasing the scope and stakes from installment to installment is good, but hopefully this leap isn't too much.
All in all, sounds like a fun movie and I can appreciate the apparent willingness to take a chance. Of course, this is said knowing what is, in reality, very little about said movie.
If Garry Chalk ain't coming back, I'm gonna be so sad. BW was my entry to the series.
Just let the Bayverse die.
You need to be high inorder to have Bumblebee fit into it, and TLK was so convoluted and it was so bad it almost bankrupted Paramount.
Can't we just move on from it.
Doesn't even need to be like Thanos. There are so many villains in the TF lore that we don't need to dump them all in every movie. Part of what turned me off of the Bay stuff was that it turned in to a clusterf*ck of villains and characters.
Let Scourge have the limelight here. Then later on we can bring in Megatron (BW or otherwise). Keeping the casts small from film to film let's them get more focus which helps them catch on more broadly within the franchise.
I really wish Beast Wars characters' alt modes were, you know, organic animals—not robots vaguely shaped like them. Robots in disguise and all that. It'd be such a trip to see realistic animals transform. Could be a real "wow" moment like the first time we saw transformations in the '07 movie. But I'm grateful either way. The thought of "Studio Series Airazor" kinda blows my mind.
"Scourge is the leader of Terrocons and is a trophy hunter. Like Lockdown from AOE. When he kills, he rips the faction insignias and “tattoos” them into his body. 4 smokestacks on back, all smoking. Claw hand with electricity. Black/grey tone with orange pops. Not Black Convoy looking, but probably a truck due to smokestacks in art."
I'm a sucker for semitruck transformers. I'm game. XD
The Beast Wars characters never used their alt modes for disguise, though. And let's not forget Transmetals.
Out of bile curiosity: @SilverOptimus mentioned a video package shown at the top showing “key moments” from the brand. Any insight as to what those were? Any that we haven’t heard from in a while, like Animated or the Unicron Trilogy?
Yeah, this sounds almost like Transmetals 2—cyborg-looking.
God, this sounds ridiculous. Just completely off the chain...
And I am ten billion percent here for Transformers getting weird with it. This has the potential to be incredible or an incomprehensible trainwreck, but I'm going to remain optimistic and hope that it's the former.
It\'s gonna be super interesting to see maximals/predacons/terrorcons in live-action. Especially with Prime and Primal being seperate characters. Also, gonna be refreshing to see a new, less-shown culture. Honestly, my ownly hope is that the supposed Prime truck that was \"leaked\" isn\'t real. Some people like it, but it ain\'t for me. Mirage and Arcee? Heck yeah! As always, more toys to look forward to!
I'M IN! The longer we can keep Megatron out of the movies, the better, as far as I'm concerned.
