Cause movie going bad now.
Ok, this synopsis has me more interested now. Maybe it's just because it has "Scourge" as the main villain. I don't know which version of Scourge it is referring to, or if it's a new version entirely. It could be G1 Scourge, an alternative name for Nemesis Prime, or hell even Cybertron Scourge who's a beast.
Nothing really. People just like arguing about movies.
According to the people who attended to a special event by Paramount who officially announced the film and show some concept art ROTB Scourge is said to be actually a mixture of all 3 versions of Scourge. such has having a face similar to G1 Scourge along with his alt mode being RID01 Scourge's alt mode and maybe also having a dragon mode as a third mode like Cybertron Scourge.
the film that will save this franchise
I think something to keep in mind is that the movies usually use names that don’t have much to do with the lore of the name. Scourge is a safe bet to be an all new character in my opinion. With the beast thing I’m thinking he’ll have a beast alt mode instead of a vehicle. I think we should set that proper expectation
I have next to no hype for this at this point. Unless they delay it within a few months of the release day, I really don't care. Even then, it depends on the reason. If some new Covid strain starts hitting, I'd rather the movie just hold off coming out.
Not like there aren't thousands of films already out that I haven't seen that I can watch in the meantime. I've never seen Psycho, so it would be a new film to me. I know the shower scene and the twist but other that that, I have no idea what the story is.
Norman Bates really likes his mother.
I like the idea of Scourge, but it just sucks that the timeline and history of the new films still adheres to Megatron being frozen until 2007, which robs us of a 1980s or 1990s Megatron appearance in any of these.
He was mistreated in the Bay movies, now he’s just ignored.
I think it is a new version with elements from previous Scourges.
I hope the tackle this in Studio Series, if true.
Like even if the movie ends up being terrible that sounds like a badass toy.
Seriously, that Scourge sounds like the coolest thing ever. Especially if it has the "flame beard" that I heard mentioned back around the time of the initial reveal.
I dunno, Hasbro's track record when it comes to modern figures that have a beast mode and a vehicular mode is...not great.
ROTB Scourge would be awesome if he was G1 Scourge's bot mode with a truck alt mode and a third dragon mode. Make him the omega Scourge, all versions in one.
Honestly I just hope he doesn't suck. Scourge is awesome, no matter what version, let's keep the tradition going!
HasTak has been hesitant to actually try and tackle movie triple changers previously (Drift, Shatter, Dropkick) but I'm hoping the fact he's a semi/dragon means they could leverage the rumored SS Commander class price point to pull it off. Would give them plenty of room to work as he could be a cab/trailer instead of trying to squeeze the whole thing in to the Leader price like they did with DotM Megatron.
It's one of the reasons why even when I soured on the initial movies, I still kinda hoped they kept going. It produced some really cool toys (the AoE Dinobots and SS Devy for example).
Doubledealer, Apeface, and Snapdragon are all solid figures.
Are "geewunners" really that against Beast Wars anymore?
"News flash: movie filmed during global pandemic is delayed, surprising no one. More news and sport at 11!"
Because all three of those were designed off of 80s figures that not only had made up sci-fi vehicular modes but also were meant to heavily invoke their original 80s incarnations so they could afford to be blocky and have obvious vehicle kibble. Plus Snapdragon actually legit pisses me off with how they didn't really think through what would happen by putting his clear plastic cockpit with paint on it on the underside of his tail. Should have been a solid cast piece...
Regardless, unless ROTB Scourge looks like the blockiest dragon ever this side of Paper Mario and the Origami King, that dragon mode is going to be severely compromised by truck kibble worse than AoE Galvatron's Voyager figure's robot mode.
I mean, "yes" in the sense that they oppose anything that isn't G1....which would mean if this flops they'd just blame it not being G1 enough. Despite these movies absolutely blowing up the box office without drowning general audiences in G1 accuracy in the first place.
The problem with the Bayverse is that as they went on they became decreasingly less interested in trying to be something the toy makers could recreate.
If his dragon mode actually incorporates his truck mode in a way that's smart it can simultaneously look good on the screen and toy makers won't have to "compromise" anything.
On that I will agree. Its like they forgot that the films were meant to sell toys.
Personally, I'd rather they did something actually wild with the dragon form and made it one of those fire breathing dragon truck things you might find at car shows, maybe as an in-between mode.
