Robot dinosaurs?! Ah hell, now I have to see it.

 

The animation is .. well, I'll say I don't approve and leave it at that. But the cartoon itself looks very interesting.

I can see people raging over Optimus's mouth now (even after him having one since Cybertron, and even back in Beast Wars and Machine Wars). Can't tell too much about the animation style yet, since the clips were like, three seconds long at most, but it looks... flash-based?

 

Geez, looks like it might have been animated in the space of an afternoon.

 

Ugh, looks to be done in Flash with a budget of about $15. Feels more like an iPhone app than an actual show.

You know what would be awesome? If this show was in continuity with Transformers Prime. No, I totally didn't steal this idea from WTF@TFW.

 

Part of me was sort of looking forward to this, as it was something I figured my nephew would enjoy. I still think he would enjoy it, but that introductory-to-flash-level animation is HORRIBLE...even for a little kids show. Oh well, the little one's will still get a kick out of it, and that's all that really matters...

 

Rather disappointed with the animation. Given the stellar voice cast, I was hoping show would like as good as My Little Pony.

 

Gotta agree with a few people here, the animation is utter crap. The voice-acting and story better more than make up for this.

 

I'm surprised with how prevalent Flash animation is with cartoons. Well, not too surprised given how "easy" it is to do (at least, compared to the alternatives), but it's still not a look I'd imagine many of the creative minds behind the shows are actually pleased with.

 

When the animation is giving you flashbacks to the Fight for Energon short, you know something's wrong.

Given the show's nature, though, I can't bash it too much. I'm far from the target audience and won't be watching it. Unless it turns out to be actually pretty good or So Bad It's Hilarious.

 

Optimus Prime with a mouth in any media that's not A/E/C/ Animated is always creepy to me.

 

The show isn't for older fans, it's for kids who play flash games from their computers via cartoon tv websites. Hasbro is smart to cut the budget down when trying out something NEW for an audience whose attention spans are half their heights. I actually applaud the smart marketing-- more funds for TF Prime or something else.

 

My question is, what universe does this show operate in? I'm assuming its own, but has there been any news/confirmation either way?

So...this is why Transformers: Prime Season 2 was pushed back a few months, right? Not that it's a bad thing, I'm sure my son will be happy to see yet another new Transformers line, but he still asks when me when will the next Transformers: Prime story start
