A cool alternate cover for Regeneration 1 Issue #0 drawn by Casey Coller. The "Hal-Cons" graffiti stands for Halifax (the city where Giant Robot Comics are based, and this cover is set) and Decepticons.

This cover is exclusive to Giant Robot Comics. I'm informed if you would like a copy they will be taking orders by email and selling this on Ebay once they come in.

Many thanks to 2005 Boards member D-Drive for the news tip!

It's an all-new story set 20 years after the end of Marvel US issue 80. It picks up on a lot of the plot threads that were left hanging at the end of the Marvel US run like what happened to Megatron and Ratchet etc.

So yeah, sequel to the original comic series, or a continuation depending on your interpretation of it.

Pathetic attempt to continue the original marvel series past issue 80 [currently at issue 93], with retro-looking art by Wildman [sadly pretty awful at points] written by Furman.

The awesome continuation of the original Marvel comics. Don't listen to the haters. Read it and find out.

I'm a denizen of this now-Decepticon-run cityscape, and there's an added pun to the "Hal-Con" graffiti: our Halifax-based Sci Fi convention is aptly titled Hal-Con.

Also, D-Drive, save me at least one copy! :D

While it is a good series the main problem I have with it is that is ignores G2 and picks up 21 years after issue #80. The series would have been better if it chronicled the events that happened in July 1991 (Issue 80) and then went up to November 1993 (GI Joe #138 ?) and then picked up again in 2012/2013 so that the after effects of G2 #12 have had some time to settle in with the Liege Maximo taking all of this time to plot while Optimus and Megatron struggling with keeping the peace between the Autobots and Decepticons. I could have seen Prime and Megs ruling with (somewhat) of an iron fist to keep the sides from fighting each other again while also hunting down "unstable" elements that do not want peace such as Bludgeon and Starscream, etc...

I know having a big time jump in the middle of a comic is risky but they did it when Armada went straight to Energon and that came off pretty ok....

The art is retro looking, or up to date??

Ignoring G2 is probably the best decision they made for this series. I can understand why some aren't happy about it, but for my money, absolutely nothing of value was lost.

I know the clock tower is in my city, Halifax, Nova Scotia. The spry-paint refers to a Sci-Fi con the happens every year here. Hal-Con 2013

By my perspective the cover is awesome

"features the classic Decepticon core cast lineup of Megatron, Starscream, Soundwave, Rumble, Ravage, Skywarp and Thundercracker."

This was a total blast to colo(u)r and marks my first Regen cover work rather than just the interiors (and in a style more like my usual). Pleased y'all dig!

Canada's been getting RG1 just like the rest of the world. RG1 issue 0 is a new, standalone thing which, IIRC, tells a bunch of little stories set between the original series and RG1, with a different artist on each story (Nick Roche is doing one I think?).

odd, we've already got an issue #0 in the lower 48. But it was more of a recap retailer incentive thing (ashcan). Wonder if the interior will be the same?
