Alright, now that more reactions to this are coming out, I think it's safe to say this trailer is confusing the General Audience, hell even us still. A lot of the general audience could not even tell it was transformers fully until the logo was shown or just barely at the end with Bumblebee, and I agree with that.

And the biggest one and the million dollar question of the day whether or not this game will be 1st or 3rd person.

Besides that, unless your are a die hard like us, most of the general audience is on a wait and see mentality and not really putting this super high up on their radar, which is to be expected. I think once we get a gameplay trailer, it will change a lot of minds one way or another.

I think the General Audience still isn't fully trusting of the newer media and content, which given it's recent history is understandable. I am hoping this will be another hidden gem.

 

Not a lot to go on yet, but I think it looks cool. I actually like how vague and 'confusing' it is, makes the reveal that it takes place in the Transformers universe cooler. Definitely feels more special and unique than a lot of recent Transformers stuff.

It actually looks similar to an idea I had years ago for a post-apocalyptic Transformers story...the Decepticons successfully take over the Earth and drive the surviving Autobots into hiding, where they have to emerge and retake the planet. Not sure if that's exactly what's going on here, but it looks similar (with maybe the Decepticons swapped out for some other threat).

 

Mark Hasbro if you're reading this tell Splash Damage to make Air Raid a playable character

 

I think the best example is from Mass Effect where this is when the Reapers start invading and we are loosing badly. The Decepticons are not the bads, but a virus called Legion that might be Quintesson based that infects both organic and mechanical beings. Your synopsis sounds pretty close, survivors go into hiding after the invasion and try to get every bot and resource back online to fight Legion with all sides joining forces. I imagine it will be a cross between something like the Walking Dead and Mass Effect.

 

Marissa also appears in that continuity... Could we be facing a grimdark version of Transformers with elements of those books? /j

I was watching live, saw the symbols and thought to myself "huh, I've seen this somewhere before", only until the actual ending of it I understood it was Transformers indeed. And I was joking to my friends about a TF game being revealed with no clue what was coming lol

 

I think that was everyone's reaction give or take. There was almost no defining moments until the very end, and then on the second, third, fourth rewatch, you're like "Oh yeah, I see it now," when you start picking out characters and putting the pieces together.

Only reason I knew was because I immediately recognized Delvin

 

So is this officially a Transformers game?...Cause it feels more like it's own thing that just happens to have Transformers as a IP crossover type thing going on.

 

Yep. 100% Transformers, using less mainstream source material than usual though.

Ah, so 'generic dark viral blob' enemies. That worked out so well in Suicide Squad, as well as about 45 other bad sci-fi/action movies. Those things sure must be cheap and easy to animate. Let me guess a bit more, they're fearless and merciless, and can all be deactivated when a large boss enemy is killed three times.

Oof, I need to open a window to let out some cynicism.

 

So this thought has been buggin me for awhile now.

It looks like the car based bots will get some Mad Max flair, but what about flying bots like Slipstream and the Seekers look like? Will they also get some flair or will they be just regular planes?

There's...more than meets the eye to these vans I suspect.

 

Jets are typically tough on their own as they have to withstand intense forces during flight, but also they have to be aerodynamic.


Plus, what do they need spikes for in the air? They can’t exact ram into enemies. At the spend they go and the pressure their frames are under, a head on collision means destruction. “Mad maxing” their design would only serve aesthetics and hurt the performance of the aircraft as opposed to a car of a truck where it would have offensive and defensive advantages.

 

Like purple heart said, mad max style simply wouldn't work with planes, as to be aerodynamic they need to be very sleek. Then again, some alt mode extra guns but onto the body of the plain and maybe some cool sharkmouth paint would work

And yeah, jokes aside, this was kinda my thoughts, they don't have a need for Mad Max-esque modifications really. So I am very curious to see if they do or don't

 

So if Blum's doing Starscream have there been any leaks on voices for anyone else?
