Yep, he brings up that he’s transformed and done it multiple times, gone through instructions, watched multiple videos, and still couldn’t fix the issues he had. And yet despite that he’s being written off instantly.

I do wonder if there's something mis-molded with his Getsuei, because if things are right, then it should be impossible for there to be that large split down the middle of Raiden's thigh. That seem to tell me that the central ridge is missing/broken, which the allows the outer side of the thigh to just fall away, and then yeah, there's nothing holding the leg on then.

I imagine there has to be a mold error or something there, yeah. Even with reviewers who purposefully tried to be rough with it I don’t recall seeing the legs go flying off like that.
He likely got the US price form Hasbro pulse, which would indeed put it close to or over an $1000 even in USD. Especially with tax.

I think I ended up paying around $700 for Moon Studios' Raiden.

I got 6 mps for about $130 shipped apiece, dont feel any loss on my end. I love the train and bot modes, and my issues with Raiden will probably be fixed with an upgrade kit. Despite his height he has some mass, and he just needs a legitimate waist and lower torso to help even things out.

I'm aware it's just a bad faith argument that people will take at face value. If you have a huge following you should be aware that pulse is far from msrp.

Considering Hasbro gets em directly from Takara to sell, it’s the closest to an MSRP you’ll get for North America.

Yep. Again, closest you’ll get to an MSRP stateside. It’s why it’s used.

Sure, though it’s also pretty much what would be considered MSRP in the US.

Kinda like how US figures brought over to Japan would have their own MSRP of sorts. People buying there aren’t going to be using the US msrp when referring to those figures as they’re paying the imported price. So really it’s not much of a thing to be picky on.

I see your point, but in absence of an official distributor (Pulse isn't), i would have used a range of price for the piece

I paid $775 USD for the set. Four from AJ and 2 from US. The 2 from the US was about the same as getting it from Japan. MPG-06s might even be more from Japan due to shipping. For those that bought it under $600 USD let’s see a breakdown. My personal opinion is this set is not worth $700+.

ThatToyGuy got a few of his figures off Buyee, possibly used/ defective so that needs to be factored in.

The legs weren't angled according to how they should be.

I think his Kaen is just as much as fault as his Getsuei. Mine takes a lot of force to slide the Kaen lower legs off the knee joints and his just flies off.

He often rushes transformations and this leads to things to not being fully tabbed in (for example his Kaen in hip mode). If there's one thing I've learned about this set it's to really take your time with the transformations and do each step fully and properly. I've noticed that the solidity of my trainbots in all modes depends a lot on how fast I transform them. You simply can't slam through the steps like you can on a UT figure.

As a review of *his* set, it's valid. I would be annoyed as well if that was the quality of my figures. Thankfully the QC on mine has been really good and the only problems I have are problems with certain design decisions.

Yeah I agree with all of this. His plea for a chug version seems to be more his speed, not in a demeaning way but some collectors do want that kind of pick up and play experience. I have my Raiden on my shelf, chrome sword in hand and I am beyond satisfied, but I would also adore a chug Raiden, and a G1 copy as well. This kind of sloppy reviewing is irksomely ignorant at best and ill-intentioned at worst and is simply a result of various mindsets existing in the same space.
