Dear folks, it's time to preorder! (already done at launch, but amazon lowered the price to the discounted one!)

 

I only paid 16000 yen with Anime Export preorder, but to be fair that required paying it all straight away. And they seem stuck with DHL shipping to UK which will be another chunk later (at least that was the case with recent purchases) so I guess it's swings and roundabouts.

 

How much DHL costs by AE to the european continent? I must begin to made two counts

 

I used to order everything at Anime-Export, but for about 1700 more for the figure, cheaper and lightning fast shipping, and great customer service, but unfortunately with import fees, I nowadays choose Amazon Japan myself. It has saved me on two or maybe even three QC occasions, and no worries about packages being intercepted by customs.

 

Living in England, I cant speak for the European mainland (but likely the prices would be similar). My last shipment from AE cost 4,500 yen (£29.53) , but that was with both MP Inferno and MP Trailbreaker, so a larger heavier parcel.

My most recent after that was MPG Shouki which cost me 3700 yen (£23.78) to post which is probably a better indicator. Bear in mind this was back in October, and the price might have risen since then but I reckon that's about right.

I haven't had parcels stopped to add tax from them (or from far east in general)in most recent deliveries, or ever, that I remember. (Maybe from Japan, years ago.) When I have been charged tax, it has usually been from USA. Eastern countries often try to help out by being vaguer with their package descriptions.

Amazon Japan, might though. Amazon tend to just add the tax their side, from what I recall, but I agree they're probably a good option for fast deliveries and customer care. My last AE shipment was very fast, but I expect that from DHL.

Basically it should cost the same from Amazon+ taxes or anime export DHL... at this point i'll go to the one with the better customer care.
