Why wait ? Amazon guarantees you will get the price drop automatically if you preorder . Been living in japan for almost 20 years now , hasn’t failed me once .

 

Most of us have been using Amazon since 2016, and even now there's a " panic" when the price is first announced and its not discounted. If anything because the P.O.s are left open for 3-4 months they're slow to applying the full discout.


Im agreeing with @lord ginrai God Ginrai makes a lot of sense as the next MPG. He's a Prime, tons of gimmicks, and the combinin aspect.

As far as combiner, whichever one they feel will attract the most people, especially those who dont really feel a need to get MPs in the first place. That leaves 2 choices Devastator or Menasor, so probably Devastator

 

I would expect all of them to be readily available for not too much money on Mandarake or Yahoo JP.

 

What if the next MPG is Raiden Diaclone redeco.

 

I wouldn't be surprised if they do a Diaclone repaint of the MPG Trainbots. I'm thinking that, if they do, it'll be a TT Mall exclusive though.

 

Real answer? I 'unno! There was a questionnaire a while back last year during TT Hobby Expo that asked what combiners you'd like to see next, that included the absolute wild pick Volcanicus and allowed people to write in others that weren't already choices.

I assume the period to write in for this questionnaire has long passed, and we're not going to see the fruits of it until long after Raiden's completed, so we'll probably be in the dark about what the next MPG project is for a good while. If Takara's smart they can probably push out reshells and retools of the six Trainbots into the alternate Diaclone decoes that were recently turned into new characters via the recent Train Wars manga. Outside of that?

JRX/Rail Racer, along with Sixliner and Sixtrain have a decent-ish shot of getting in because they're all trains and Japan eats that shit up. Extra points if the latter two had compatible couplings with the Trainbots for the return of the stupidly awesome Trainbot Omni-Car Joint. Aside from More Trains... maybe Devastator and Menasor? Devastator because he's the first combiner and you could also get a Diaclone colors set out of them, even more easily than with Raiden since you don't need to heavily retool anything. In Menasor's case, it's because Masterpiece's bread and butter is having licenses to all these cars, but I think, off the top of my head, the only one they officially have so far is Lamborghini. Dead End is probably possible once they get the clear from Porsche to finally release the vaporware that is MP Cliffjumper from their backrooms, though.

 

Because for those of us in the States, it's actually cheaper now to order from Pulse, even after sales tax. If the ''normal'' price drop happens, then Amazon will likely be cheaper. For now it's not.

 

The price on AJP always drops. With the Trainbots, they've all received at least the 19% discount. It's still definitely cheaper, even for me in Canada, than ordering anywhere else that I've found.

 

Exactly this. The differences between the decos would hardly be worth bothering.

 

Expecting straight redecoes from Takara for the inevitable G Liner reuses when the train modes on the ones we've gotten are extremely accurate to the real things feels like disregarding that fact. If we're getting something like... a Doctor reuse from Yukikaze, I feel like Takara wouldn't just redeco Yukikaze straight up and call it a day, they'd reshell him into an actual Dr. Yellow Shinkansen.
