If I've said it once I've said it a million times, train modes look absolutely amazing and everything else looks like an afterthought, especially that combined mode

 

not any more compromised then any other transformer. just most of them sacrifice the altmode

and i find the robots modes out of the 2 i have so far perfectly fine and in line with existing MPs

 

From what we can see of the Combined mode, it looks way cleaner put together than the individual kibble bots.

 

as a masterpiece, its not. moon studios 1000% better. as a CHUG scale/style raiden. acceptable 

 

There are three modes. Moon Studios only does one well. TT does two modes well. Personally, I'd rather go for two modes well done.

I mean, there those of us that would disagree with you.

It’s a good thing we have options for the Trainbots and each set has their own pros and cons. It’s up to each person to decide which option weighs those attributes towards their personal tastes.

For me the MS Trainbots only look good in combined mode. The Takara set takes the win in every other category.

You are correct. The MP might have an edge in the train modes, for people who are hardcore trainspotters... but the robot modes and combined modes? Not even a question, Moon Studios nails it... no contest.

Some people may prefer one over the other for a bunch of reasons... but not everything is subjective. This world still holds some objective truths, even in this age of misinformation and denial.

The individual Moonstudios robots don’t really resemble the robots and are way too large.

 

They definitely resemble them if I was able to tell who they were. Considering I have zero knowledge of Raiden outside of seeing animation stills and toys and still recognize em.

they are not even that close shouki and kaen being the worst in bot mode and kaen not even turning into a complete train with his bot mode chest just hanging in the breeze.

 

Hysterically as far as I can recall they were rarely ever in their individual bot modes in Headmasters so I’d wager most aren’t capable of recalling what they look like unless they’re such Raiden super fans that they wish he’d have become the new Prime.

If you like this more power to ya, but for me I’d go for Moon Studios 10 out of 10 times. He’s far more simplistic in look, but he’s far better scale and cleanliness. This one has that ridge behind his head that hides it somewhat (at least in images, RL obviously could vary), his feet wings are really chunky, and he basically has no thighs.

 

So glad I went with Moon Studios. It looks so much more accurate to the characters than this offering.

 

I'm glad for the MPs. I enjoy actually transforming my figures, and having convincing alt-modes incentivizes me to do so. Plus the Moon Studios do that gross panel-layering thing that I absolutely despise of 3P engineering.
