So we're all in agreement that Raiden won't use the Combiner ports introduced in Combiner Wars, yeah?

And just for kicks, what if Hasbro localized Raiden and his components? Yeah, probably never happening, but I thought up some English names based on what the Trainbots' names meant in kanji and other elements.
    • Shouki --> Machspeed (based on Shouki's preliminary name of Mach.)
    • Getsuei --> Moonshadow (or Nightshadow, this was a case of "oh, I guess the literal translation works pretty well for an English Transformers name already.")
    • Yukikaze --> Snowcat (a repurposing of the name used for Cyclonus in the Energon series, based on the usage of "yuki," which means "snow".)
    • Suiken --> Waterstorm (based on how "suiken" literally translates to "water fist" and how his preliminary name was "Storm".)
    • Seizan --> Bluespeed (this was tricky because all there was to go on was "Blue Mountain", "Western Mountain", and "Plain". I went with "Bluespeed" because it's a pun on "blue" and "full speed" and Seizan's bio, or at least the one in TFWiki, mentions how he likes to drop down on Decepticons at full speed.)
    • Kaen --> Powerblaze (based on how "Kaen" is the most likely translation for "Blaze" and his preliminary name of "Power".)
EDIT: Made proposed English names in bold for better seeing.

Don’t forget Rail Racer as Raiden’s English name! How does that sound?

I mean, there's already a Rail Racer, so if Takara decides to do Rail Racer (or JRX as he's known in Japan) later on, what would Hasbro call him if they already used Rail Racer for Raiden?

    I say stick with Raiden.

I think an MP of JRX is the only thing in the world less likely than MP Raiden was. :lol

Also Hasbro probably wouldn't care about using the name twice.

Probably. But Raiden's only ever appeared the one time. He could use the exposure. Plus, some people grew up with RID (or Car Robots), so I can't help but picture the outrage that would happen if Rail Racer's name was used for something that's obviously not Rail Racer.

I also want an MP (official or 3P) Rail Racer after MP Raiden, so... yeah.....

And I also just really like saying 'Rail Racer'.

Quick note, there was a post earlier in this thread about the popular scales of model trains. Relevant to this picture, you're looking at an HO-scale layout here. Arguably the most popular in the rest of the world, but it's pretty uncommon in Japan. They tend more toward N-scale, which is quite a bit smaller. Sets that you can carry around in a briefcase (tracks and all) are not uncommon.

EDIT: Slight mis-speaking on my part. Briefcase sets tend to be Z-scale, which is even smaller. I don't know that it's more or less common than N-scale in Japan, but I can confirm Japanese Z-scale sets.
