It seems very confirmed in the Japanese event poster; the Japanese translation literally worded is:

“...Transformers Masterpiece ‘Commercialization decision’”

 

Japan is +14 hours compared to EDT. About the Dec. 3rd date

 

@OP: Uhhh...FYI ..Raiden started off in the original Diaclone line as "Train Robo" before Transformers. What the fuck are you going on about mate? I love it when people spew their "facts" without KNOWING THE ACTUAL BACKGROUND OF DIACLONE. AT ALL.

I should know as I have both the Diaclone and Transformers incarnations. Just need their chromed variant releases and I can call it a day.

Either way this is what is going to be made by Takaratomy. If its not really your interest then.. good for you? Dialcone Train Robo is the same toy and components as Transfomers Raiden. You're ignoring the facts that this release was made and planned meticulously by Takaratomy to cater to three different markets in Japan. Yes their core business. One: the realistic train model enthusiasts which you mocked ; two MP collectors and; three.. Repurposed in the Diaclone reboot line as Train Robo.
So your argument and flimsy theories doesnt hold any water. Imo.

I've said: these robots are probably scaled around the robot size and not alt-mode size, because MP line has a choesive scale. If they wanted to scale the alt mode like the Tomy train, probably they were going to make a Train Robo project in their Diaclone reboot line instead to make a Raiden project.

I assume this will not be in Plarail scale just like Shinkalion. But rather be bigger as it to fit Diaclone figures as a bonus. Yes, Raiden was never named back in Diaclone, but at least I could refer to it as Train Robo.

But honestly, Raiden uses the same molds and deco as the Diaclone one.

And correct again.

Forgive him, since it's also part of Raiden's toy origin.

OK, Takara's train robots plus Tomy's Plarail system could work at some point if they're going for it. I also think TT themselves never pointed out about Plarail for MP Raiden.

 

IDK, I kinda like shouting Shouki’s name a lot. It’s cute.

 

We STILL don’t know if it’s a Masterpiece figure for sure, but it’s 99.99999999999% likely at this point.

We also don’t know if it’ll have Diaclone elements. Maybe it’ll get a Diaclone redeco a la MP-18B, but that might be too pricey. Again, we have zero clues.

Still would be nice if we got a CHUG Raiden. I haven’t the shelf space for too many MP figures...

All MPs eventually get KOed, the same will happen here. If Zeta and TW have dropped their Raidens, that's the only way I'll be getting one.

I'm terrified this thing will have electronics to run on a track and bump the price up substantially. Good for the train enthusiasts I suppose.

 

While kind of out of left field, this in some ways seems like a smart move. 3P have already saturated the market for basically every other combiner except Raiden. Takara is very focused on the Japanese collector market first and they like doing projects for Japan-only characters, so this gives them the opportunity to do the character their way, and before anyone else.

That being said, I don't collect MP at all, so I'm sadly going to skip this. I love trains, and I'd really love train robots, but these will no doubt be far outside of my price range.

It's times like this that make me wish straight translations from Japanese to English didn't sound so awkwardly. Yeah, Masterpiece Raiden is DEFINITELY happening, but I can't stand the cryptic wording...

Alright, it's December 3rd, 10:21 am EST, which means it just became December 4th in Japan. Should we expect another update to Raiden today? How many people will have a heart attack if it turns out he's MP-50?
