Is assaltus about 30-34 cm?
About Skids'design is mentioned a bit in a message from Mr. Ohno published in Figure King.
Transformers Masterpiece MP-53 Skids
"The recent masterpieces are difficult to transform, and I think it's better to be more mechanic .....
The starting point for skids development was to create a masterpiece with a new direction that would respond to such voices, which is a little different from the current trend.
There was also a desire to keep prices down without lowering the quality as much as possible."
The interview published in the Transformers Generations 2021 Book also contains a few relevant details.
"---There is a sense that the direction of Masterpiece has entered a new stage with Skids?"
"With the changes in the surrounding environment, including the more precise War for Cybertron, we felt it was time to re-set the direction of the series as a whole. So this time around, the entire Transformers team carefully discussed it, starting with the development approach itself."
Well, isn't TakaraTomy looking for a future direction for Masterpiece?(It's annoying for fans to see the design direction go back and forth...)
The oft-repeated reason that this is a product associated with the Honda City Anniversary is just an prediction, so we are not really sure what the actual reason is.
The Trainbots are actually quite cartoon accurate. It just happens to be that their animation models match the toys more too, so that may be the reason why you put them in the same category as MP-10? And while they did include more toy references, they're more cartoon accurate than that they match with the style of MP-10.
Wow. It looks even worse than I first thought.
If you don't have anything nice to say...
Just bash it in the moon studio thread like i do
Getting this purely because I want an official Takara MP train, its a cool piece even if the robot mode leaves a bit to be desired.
Not 100% sure. Most think that this is gonna be under 40cm, but I find that hard to believe with the 1st two showing to either be the size of an MP carbot, or a MP van bro. I think this will end up being close to the size of CW Devy; about 45cm to his forehead. CW Devy's individual bots are about the size of an MP carbot, too. Assaultus scales nicely with this combiner, so yes, it's possible Raiden may scale similar.
I think this will be bigger than ppl are saying, again, just based on the size of the revealed figs thus far. Guess time will tell for sure.
Def gotta atleast get one of these dudes. Or 2 maybe just to display both modes. Getting all 6 I dunno, that\'s around $1200. I wouldnt even go that far for the Unicron.
Might stick to my little easter basket kos
You're ordering from the wrong place(s) then. Many others pay about $135 per Trainbot, times six Trainbots, makes a total of about $810, excluding shipping. Preorder on Amazon Japan, your wallet will thank you.
They really should have pulled this figure out of the MP line and given it its own thing, its just not up to scratch and the Moon Studios 3rd party reditions blow it out of the water to the point where the Takara effort is embarassing.
What, like the new line they created for this figure?
Moon Studio's figures are off-model and sacrifice robot and train modes for combined mode
I will not stop dumping on Moon Studio's excuse for Shouki. Seriously, its like taking Bulkhead and making him tall and thin

Those pictures make it look a lot better than the official photos, but I still don’t like the lower legs. They would look better if they looked more like a box than two perpendicular panels strapped to a thin armature.
Final copy looks sharp, considerable difference from the prototype.
It does indeed. The colors are nicer too. Different lighting also helps. No mold changes compared to the prototype that I can see.
