I thought you were referring more to add-on parts/partsforming, since the Moon Studios one just tacks on the hands and ankle rockets and chestplate, without bothering to transform or store them at all. Otherwise, I don't actually see any "fake" parts on that particular set. Other than the fake shinkansen nosecone on the chestplate.

I think there's a huge difference between using "faux" parts that are physically a part of the figure, versus adding in gigantic assemblies that are as big, or bigger than the individual figures themselves.

No other MP requires you to add in, completely separate, thighs and torsos.

Now, I'm not saying TTs Raiden is the best, it leaves a lot be desired, as far as I'm concerned too. But having a whole useless torso sitting off to the side is absolutely not equal to MP52 having 2 different shaped canopies fully integrated into the figure.

Is that Kaen on the left or just a scale model?

Honestly with the way his torso puffs out like that, it reminds me of the POTP deluxes with the HFG piece attached

Looks like it a little... But at the same time, without seeing some seams, and better lighting, there's no way to say an absolute yes or no. The coloring and style train is correct

I was talking about my Shouki po; I saw people say their po dropped in price (as usual in MP threads) but when I looked - either in my order or on the product page - it hadn’t dropped a single yen.

Kinda goes to show the problem with Kaen probably… was the biggest G1 toy that made up the waist and lower torso, but here he’s the smallest train… the other Getsuei is also a scale model I believe

So that's the size we're looking at for Kaen? If it is I can safely say this is the only MP combiner that will real world the train modes.

When did you order Shouki? When he was first put up for PO, he was 19800 yen (about$175 usd before shipping). It has now come down to 15674 yen(about $138 usd before shipping) and 18000 yen(about $158 usd with shipping). I ordered mine back in october.

Judging his size, I think it’s to be expected. I would like for him to actually grey out part of the front of shouki’s train and just focus on being the hips here, but I think TT is making him do more than that judging from the silhouette which makes the waist way too thin.

Actually that model may not be Kaen… Just checked online and found this:

I might be wrong, but looks different to me? Seems a bit longer, but not much bigger.

Yep, Kaen should be 1 or 2 cm shorter in lenght compared to Getsuei, not so small
