Yeah, the robot mode scale is just about right, which is the usual MP MO.

Scaling is never going to be right with Combiner characters. You typically can't satisfy the conditions of all three modes without heavy cheats. Especially in the Combined form themselves, where the animation grossly exaggerated them more often than not.

I need to do a bit of math:

Anime Export at the time is 14,400 JPY, with 1800/2800 JPY of shipping, on plus the local taxes (IF, but IF they write a low value, COULD be 5 euros, if not 22% of the total value)
Amazon JP has this at 20281 yen shipped, with full taxes.

One is ALMOST 3 weeks shipping and that's it, the other less than 1 week, with returns options and all.

The difference is, combining all the most convenient options for Anime Export (5 euros duty + 1800 yen shipping - I don't know if it is more), 35 euros.

What is the best option? :\

I don't know if it was said, not trying to rag on the fig... It seems off some how from the shots straight on, kind of stumpy I want to say. It doesn't look as well proportioned as it did in earlier photos. The lower legs seem thicker too. If I'm explaining it right.. am just seeing it funny?

My apologies if my following thoughts about this figure have already been stated or responded to in this thread(I haven’t read through), but,

This might be the most disappointing MP figure to me to date. To my eyes/taste, it looks cheap, dumpy, and not at all what “masterpiece” has been in the past. It’s an easy pass for me, but, it also makes feel really bad about how they might do other combiner MP runs in the future.

Shouki has weird, stout proportions. His boots, forearms, and hands are huge in the anime. He doesn't have standard 1984 Transformers proportions.

I actually wonder if the head crest rotates for transformation. It sticks up more than the similar crest on Prowl and co, so rotating it downwards would give more clearance to tuck it away into wherever it goes.

You're problem is earlier you were looking at a cartoon scene where Daniel was half the height of Ultra Magnus and trying to make a scale arguments with it! :)

Shouki is about Ironhide height on the Headmasters scale chart - definitely not UM height or taller! That's about where this figure is - AE has him noted as 20cm, although my estimate was 19.

Yeah he does indeed have stumpy proportions, and a cape-o-kibble...

    Why not both?

Robot is at MP scale, which is at Ironhide heigh.

Train is at HO scale (a train thick like the MP52 pole base stand), transformation will be fun on these components.

I think most folks that aren’t happy with how this guy looks simply don’t know how the character looked in the Headmasters cartoon.

He looks the part and his robot mode size is correct for the MP line.

I'm ok with dimensions for various reasons:

    1) I prefer component scaled than gestalt scaled, a mixmaster big as ultramagnus is really a big no.

    2) you will not ever have a combiner properly scaled... i mean, look at this:

    upload_2021-10-8_9-45-2.png

Yes, it's not the right robot, but the height is the same.

That's where our 22% VAT ruin things.

35 euro isn't a small sum, especially if you are planning to buy all the team, but personally I'd most likely go with Amazon, faster shipping, no paying in advance, and I like to know in advance the total sum I have to pay.

I’m actually curious if that foot might be close to the 3p version. Because this bot is pretty tiny.

(also pretty sure the 3p one is close or spot on to the full combiner from that image)

Or probably the 3p component is out of scale.

Down to 16592 on Amazon now, Hobbysearch is cheaper at 15300 so I went with them but Amazon will have it on your doorstep before Hobbysearch can even get it out the door lol.

Yeah, it's "at the worst case" 35 euros, but if shipping is already 2800 instead of 1800, the gap is smaller (or the customs are on full force, who knows)

Idk, 9” or just under 9” doesn’t sound that out of scale.
