We don't know if it's ONLY G1 combiners like Devastator and the other main gestalts.

Some speculate (and seriously hope) this could also apply to JG1 guys like Liokaiser, Road Caesar, Super/God Ginrai, Victory Saber, and all three of the Optimus combinations in the Unicron Trilogy. And the running theory is that the first combiner in the line will be Raiden.

Man, what I'd give for a timetable on when to expect a meatier update.

Well, i hope the first combiners are the ones from the japanese cartoons because we have a lot of versions of the "american" combiners

He's looking pretty damn nice. That head sculpt is pretty perfect and I'm liking all the painted detailing. Hopefully the build quality and feel in-hand is good too.

Oh, and I guess the shield not being built-in is confirmed, if we didn't know that already. I do like that we get a run of track!

 

ngl, I feel like this is the one time I think the post-Season 1 animation models being really accurate to the original toys really hinders the MP.
Cause that's a lot of kibble that doesn't look the prettiest, even if it's meant to be there.

Shouki definitely carries a pretty full backpack.

Also, looking at the combiner body, this seems to be a more loose interpretation of G1 Raiden with the two halfs of the train cockpit forming the sides of the body instead of sitting right on the chest shield.

On the plus side, the train mode is decently long.

 

Looks extremely clunky, but the face and train mode look nice. So at least I’ll be able to appreciate train pics.

 

Liking the look of this so far. The backpack doesn't bother me at all.

 

I think it's kinda cool how they used the tip of the actual nosecone (seems like it's not a fake part) for that part while the full train front end makes the main body. Kinda a best of both given that if they used the full front end of the train, it'd be way too big.

 

Agreed. Overall, it feels a bit like the earlier Hasui MPs, with a very accurate alt mode and some liberties with the bot (and now combiner) mode.
