I'm getting the Trainbots for sure, but I'm not completely sold on Skyfire yet. I'll wait for colored photos.

Yikes, so MP Raiden will easily be at least $600+ for all six trains/a box set?

It's going to be too expensive for me, but I am interested in seeing how it turns out and glad to see Raiden get the MP treatment.

I apologize, I do not understand the statement. Is this in regard to all Combiners teams being a, more or less, uniform height?

Around there, since MMC's two combiners are roughly the same height as Devastator and Predaking from CW and POTP.

Gotcha. Yeah, in that regard, MMC did get lucky.

I don't know though, a team of cars smashed together and a team of train engines smashed together probably result in different sized piles of robot parts. I know the whole Bruticus scale issue is still very much a thing but I think I am happier with the Moon Studio team for, honestly, either a Generations or MP size.

Ideally, I want them to be able to seem like they are in the same general range as an MP Astrotrain. But that seems unlikely.

I honestly think I like the design of the third party figures more too. This figure doesn't necessarily look bad but there is something off on it. Especially if it is near carbot sized.

    Scale, what a thing.

But yeah I do like it when the combiners are different scales from on another. Maybe not drastically different, but I could see teams with more or larger members being bigger than others.

As for this Raiden vs the 3rd party Raiden, I'm going to reserve judgment for the official combined mode, as I like the chunkiness of the 3rd party one.

The other thing is I want the option to buy just one or two if I don’t feel like plowing the money into an entire set or make room for it.

Yep, I generally try to use "size" over "scale" specifically because of the whole mass shifting liberties of the franchise. I suppose the robot modes can still "scale" well enough at the sacrifice of the alt mode size which is typically how most of us prefer it. But I do like when the carbots are all in a relative alt mode size to one another as possible.

Obviously, that's not being to be a rigid and exact rule either. I just don't want four different sized Lamborghinis of the same era and style because Sideswipe must come up to about half of Prime's height and Breakdown must also be an entire arm but also shin on a combiner that also has to stand eye to eye with all the other combiners.

Studio Moon certainly has done a lot of right with their version of the team. It would be nice see more of Takara's efforts by now.

That would be the low-end if they're around the price of MP Skids. That would also be the modern low end for even the 3P combiner sets. It's spendy, but that'd be catching a break compared to what they'll cost if it's more like the more modern V2 MP types like 44.

Considering that MP 44 was about $450 US, it makes you wonder how much the new Skyfire will cost?  Could it be more than the Siege Unicron?  I would luv to get both of these MPs, but the high prices these would command I am unwilling to spend that much for them.  It would be cool to see them though.

Nah, it will not cost more than a MP BW Megatron. Size could be a factor, but engineering and part counts also are.

Well, that’s somewhat good to hear. That is, if the price is confirmed to be less than MP-43 Beast Megatron’s price.

If there's one thing there's never been enough of in Transformers alt modes, it's trains. Always happy to see more of them. Let alone in MP form.

Since trains are real popular in Japan it's a headscratcher how they still haven't given us astrotrain.

TT was waiting for Thomas just like the rest of us were, wouldn't be surprised if we get an announcement for him next year.
