Yes, i'd rather the individual bots are at least carbot height or a fraction taller. The gestalt can be whatever it is as a result of this, I don't care.

Would you happen to know what scale are those Tomy trains / trainsets?

Sorry for the DP, can't insert a new image because.

They're totally not small, single robots could be totally in scale.

While I do like my Zeta Bruticus, I have to say that I picked up MMC Fraudo for Swindle and the MMC Vortex. Both are imminently better in bot mode. The MMC Perfection Series seem to be well scaled MP figures. If Raiden ends up being MMC Assaultus height instead of the Zeta Combiner height I don't think I'd have much of an issue.
Good looking MP figures is the focus and with the way the G1 cartoon plays loose with scale I don't think I could fault TT for ending up anywhere in that range. There certainly cannot be a "correct" MP Combiner height until we get our first official MP Combiner.

Just that it came up in a Figure King designer interview. The interview was actually about Skids, though, and not MPs in general, so nothing else aside from reassurance that it does exist (and also they're also working on a MP Skyfire).

I doubt they’ll go there, personally. Given the appeal of these as model trains, which is indicative of their roots in the G1 toys. I think they’ll want to honour the designs properly.

Makes sense. I was kinda hoping for Takara's to be something to flip around from time to time, and their combiner size somewhat took the glory of it out for me. I have no doubt that it'll probably end up great, but the size seems like something that won't fit the best in my collection. Somewhat like you at this point, it's really with the bots that it has left for me. Though i'm already planning on doubling up on Moon Studio's set at this point.

He does look to be pretty big.

Although apparently he'll be Zeta height with no partsforming. So I don't know how the individual bots will turn out scale wise to the rest of MP.

I'd need more information on exactly what you're talking about. Tomy does TONS of stuff.

Most likely, we're talking about something that doesn't fit into an established model train scale at all. Kids stuff like, say, the Thomas the Tank Engine stuff often doesn't.

EDIT: If you do indeed mean the Plarail stuff mentioned above, no, it doesn't fit an established model train scale. Here's more information via Wikipedia.

For reference I'll add that Lionel trains are O scale. I don't see them going that big. N would be too tiny, but HO might be about right. Are there any other scales for model trains now or that are used in Japan?

So am I getting the gist right that the individual bots will probably be around Voyager size since the combined mode will be CW/UW Devy size?

Cool if so, but since these will still be MP figures, so even if they'll fit in my collection, I'll never buy them as they'll be way too pricey for me to pick up.

That's what a lot of people are hoping for, yes. But it's too much to say that's what Takara has said. They've only said that Raiden should be Unite Warriors size, which is an ambiguous designation that could refer to the other, smaller, combiners.

    (another round of nickels, please!)

Bigger than MP-44, and that's fine by me... They are trains, they should be big.

Tbh if he ends up being sized similarly to UW Devy, that just gives me an excuse to go all in on MMC's all built in combiners.

    Z scale 1:220
    T scale 1:450

Z scale is quite a bit smaller than N and T scale is miniscule. Seriously, I've seen massive layouts in briefcases made in T scale.

I can't imagine they'd go even as small as N. HO, possibly.
