Transformers statues I can understand. Superhero statues I can understand. It's the jailbait porno anime statues I don't understand. Especially at the volume they seem to sell at since stores are constantly listing new ones. If THOSE can have a thriving market, Transformers action figures should be a given!

Really want to see Cheetor and PrimeArcee. All 3 revelead figures look quite good so far, so fingers crossed these do well and we get a bunch of them, also I'm wondering if the plan-ish paint-job of Prime, Megs and SW is just because of the G1 designs or not.

I agree. Cheetor and Arcee will really be a good measure of the lengths this line will go with paint accuracy.

The G1 figures have all the paint they need, it’s just that the G1 characters don’t have a ton of colour detail. Which is good, as I definitely enjoy action figures that aren’t fully painted and thus aren’t at increased risk of rubbing or chipping. The more colours represented in plastic the better.

That Soundwave is lookin pretty dope.
Yep, I am excited about this line, and the idea of getting Prime and Beast Wars characters is very exciting.
I already mix them together - the MP Cheetor is great standing next to similar sized carbots.
I am curious about how scale is handled in this line. And how functional the articulation is.

As for Wave 2, who knows.
#Macross7 guessed a Prime Knockout in there, and boy oh boy would that be awesome.
#samisham had the idea of IDW Rung, and man, is that a great idea.
    G1 Shockwave seems like a no-brainer
G1 Starscream and the seekers seems like a no-brainer
G1 Jazz is made in almost every line, but how does he scale with the others
G1 Grimlock would be cool but which mode?

Really want more Prime characters, particularly Ratchet, and Bulkhead.
Really want lots of Beast Wars characters, mostly Transmetals.
Really think this would be a great format for Beast Machines.
And I am a sucker for Cyclonus and Galvatron, and I'll jump on those in a heartbeat.

Very surprised by the fuck up on Soundwave's legs, doesn't feel like a error Lenny would let slip

I don't understand why these would have any appeal to the "Masterpiece crowd"... they're not in-scale, and don't match the aesthetics in any way.

I wouldn't say that wanting a "cartoon-accurate action figure" makes you an MP aficionado. If anything, that places you a little more in the "casual fan" category, who would just like a few figures representing icons from their childhood on their shelf without committing to a larger Transformers collection. I get that.

Obviously, the MP line has gotten prohibitively expensive. Not defending that mess. And the recent regular retail price hikes and smaller figures aren't encouraging me to buy more, that's for sure.

But I'm not sure how $20 USD is that much more affordable than transforming TFs at retail as they have been for the last 20 years. Pretty sure we're not going to see big waves for this line. It's not like Marvel figures where they can spit out a dozen characters with the same basic mold bucks. Every character is a unique sculpt (except the seekers, obvs). Like I said, I'll be surprised if this line lasts more than 12 characters. But we'll see.

I'm not sure if the ideal solution for vehicle rights issues is removing vehicle modes entirely! :lol

Actually, many of these could be retooled with slight changes to the bucks and still reuse a lot of the design.

Besides the color changes for seekers, datsuns, etc, many figures can be made by slight retoolings. Hasbro has gotten REALLY good at that over the years with Marvel Legends. Sometimes it takes a close look to see the buck under the retoolings. Also, Hasbro is big enough to eat some production costs, especially if the line takes off and shows success. Proof of that is the Starwars line. A LOT of dedicated molds. With Transformers, even single-use molds can have different versions or limited sets. For instance, Dinobots in robot mode would only have one use, right? Well, they can have the normal retail version, and a limited edition set with chrome-painted bits. Diaclone versions. Galvatron can have toy and cartoon versions, as well as clear translucent "1986 conversion" version. There are many MANY versions that could be made. Brawn animation version, and with a slight retool of head & hands, a Brawn toy version.

If Hasbro finds support, I can definitely see this lasting years, but it really depends on how it sells.

His legs are lacking the white portions that he had in G1, a error that happens sometimes due to people googling "g1 Soundwave" and believing that a piece of miscoloured fanart traced from his G1 Animation Model (this one below) is the real deal.

It's a common error for people that aren't very familiar with the source material, which is why it slipping by Lenny is so weird to me.

Have Megatron, Soundwave, or Bumblebee actually been made available? I was also able to pre-order Prime but the others have been OOS the entire time.
