I've posted on reddit as part of a list of random Transformer thought but I thought I might post it here:

Casey Kasem, who not only voiced Shaggy in Scooby-Doo but also voiced Cliffjumper in G1, died in June 2014 while the first episode while Prime premiered in November 4 year earlier and what was the first episode known for? Killing off Cliffjumper! And you know something... one of the people who worked on Prime also worked on Be Cool, Scooby Doo and I don't know what's more surprising, the fact that they didn't kill off Shaggy or that Hasbro killing off Cliffjumper nowadays being seen as a painful reminder of his G1 voice actor's passing? Either way, I'm more surprised over the fact that no one had Prime Arcee meeting Scooby and bonding over both each losing a partner as a tribute to Casey Kasem!

That's like saying every time Starscream dies, they are spitting on the grave of Chris Latta.

Well... in fiction sometimes a actor does die with a character, like for example Simpsons retired alot of characters after an actor died.
But, I doubt they will retire the Cliffjumper character, and I don't think Casey's death had any effect on the character either. Because there are multiple unique universes.

 

Goddamnit I thought we'd finally gotten past "Muh dead partners"!

 

Come to think of it, Prime Arcee may have been the template for the modern ""strong, independent female protagonist"".  

 

What? Prime premiered in 2010.

And ended in 2013, A year before Kasem's Passing
