I might be in the minority on this, but I am not sure how I feel about Hasbro trying to get us to buy a whole line of toys that are basically retooled versions of toys we all ready have. I know they have always done this, but this seems to be a whole line of retooled product with a few new ones thrown in. I know some of them do look kinda of cool, but still we are buying the same toy overall, and at higher prices now.

At least they aren't just repaints with name-slaps and new heads.

this information is incorrect, all we have seen is wave one wich as far as i know contains 3 delux retools, 1 original delux, 2 original voyagers and a larger predaking. we have not seen anything past wave one so how can it be said that the entire line is retools when only 3 so far are? if i missed any feel free to correct me but considering that beast hunters is already hitting shelves in parts of the country i think the retools were a way of getting product out before christmas hit.

im just going by what i've seen but i personally see no reason to think the line will be mostly retools. just be patient and wait for toy fair, remember hasbro has been extremely slow to put figures out with this entire line, heck skyquake is the last figure from the standard prime line and he was at the begining of season 1, and lets not forget that season 2 had started before many people were able to get any of the prid figures. personally with the apparent loss of the mechtech weapons in the beast hunters line it also wouldnt surprise me if we got the missing characters in the beast hunters line, along with some missing repaints such as breakdown, smokescreen, jet vehicon, ironhide, frenzy, the recently shown gears test shot etc. granted this is just my assumption but hasbro has a lot of options here as for what to release.

At least not all of them are that appealing. To me at least, lolz. I want that Optimus Prime though. Mad Max O.P.

I kinda want Laserback. I don't know what that beast mode is supposed to be, but it looks like a badass crocodile dragon and I want it.

    QFT.

I'm not a picky person, so I don't mind what we're getting. (Like bumblebee)

Wave 1 is pretty much BUY ME AGAIN but at least they went to a bit of extra effort. After all, it's not THAT much different from the movie lines simply re-designing the same characters over and over.

I was able to get Soundwave and laserbeak today. I like them. Laserbeak had a qc issue, which sucks, but he is a fairly large size for a deluxe and a pretty neat fig. The inclusion of an on going story line in the instructions is neat too.

There is a pretty deep crack on the hinge that sits right in fron of his head in robot mode.

It looks a little unpleasant that the wave one assortment in 2013 is very similar to the molds and characters used in wave 1 of 2012. (wheeljack, Bumblebee, and Soundwave)
But I think the line looks like fun and I'm glad their leaving the light up gimmicks behind for missiles.

Have I mentioned how much it reminds me of Master of the universe versus the Snake men? So many parrallel's I can draw. Even down to Optimus Prime's power sword.

    Me too.

Also we need a Mad Maxified Vehicon while we're at it.

I don't mind it, I'd hope for more new characters. I don't think it will do well though, and well see all these on clearance. The prime line started off so great with the first editions, hope to see some new great molds in 2013.

i really like the Bumblebee, and the fact he comes with his wrist mounted guns should solve my only gripe with the FE figure having only one.

Saw these yesterday at TRU. I was not overly impressed. When is Pedaking coming out. Granted he's not the combiner we know and love but its closer then paying 200 bucks for the Takara reissue.
