I think these are great. I have friends who have bought their kids movie figures, classics figures, and prime figures and their kids play with them a few times but get frustrated at the overly complex transformation and then go in a box to later be donated to a thrift store. Guess what parents will stop buying Transformers for their kids, if they see the kids are playing with them and that will hurt the brand.

In the end this is a smart move on Hasbro's part, many adult fans forget that these are for kids.

Upscaled Cyberverse Figures? They kind of remind me of fast action battlers from the movie lines in terms of simplified transformations and very basic articulation. I still think it's a lame idea though. The Beast Hunters line is beginning to lose it's appeal to me to be honest. I'm not as thrilled about it as I was with the main prime line. I do like the Predacons though. Generations and the Constructibots are becoming more interesting to me.

Equally common sense says that when you offer less, you charge less. The problem is these upscaled Legions cost just as much as a regular Deluxe.

There's a niche for simpler figures. I thought FABs were a great idea, even though I didn't get any. I've given my nephews Rescue Bots and Gravity Bots. But these... are bad. They've simply stopped trying on these. If they charged $8 or so, then I'd actually be lauding them. But as is, they're saving money on design work and materials, and the end result is that even to little kids, these are not going to look as good as a Deluxe.

Kind of my reaction. I thought "Hey, new Beast Hunter deluxes!" Then I saw them. I won't be getting any of these, but then I don't think a 30 year old collector is their target audience anyway. I didn't notice a price. Are these going to be the same as current deluxes?

As for kids being dumber, I think humanity in general just keeps getting stupider. But that's not what the thread is about so I'll leave it at that.

    Ok.
Let's see if i got this.
Hasbro just spent lots of time & money to get cheap knockoffs out of stores,
just so they could put their cheap knockoff there instead.
    EPIC FAIL!!!

As a subline (like fab or something) i think this is just fine, if this is the future of main line deluxe however then count me out, ill skip every one. hopefully in the future they dont have stuff like this at retail as the standard and charge a premium for toys with standard complexity and articulation as collectors items.

While I'd definitely agree that for young kid's toys, they were too complex, and they were definitely right that a simpler transformation is needed for lines-that-aren't-generations, I don't think upscaling legions is the proper solution.

I believe they can achieve what they want, but keep modern articulation (notice how none of those have elbows, for example) that doesn't add any significant transformation steps. Plus keep the nice detailing and paint jobs.

If we look back at many Armada toys, I think it was closer to what they need to get back to.

Wait. Wtf?! These are Deluxes? I saw this news post when it was put up and thought these were just Cyberverse. I just saw the pics. Wow. You got to be kidding me if Hasbro thinks they are going to try to sell up scaled versions of LEGION figures, at current inflated Deluxe class pricing. Unless they changed the term "Deluxe". If this is the future of Transformers then I'm outta here.

    Ugh.

Why couldn't they jsut give us show accurate repaints of Bee (first mold not mad max version) and Screen? I'd happily buy the molds again.

The Target exclusive Darksteel and Sky Lynx I know I'll be getting as well as Prowl and the remaining Beast Hunters deluxe and Voyager figures I am missing. Then that will be it for Beast Hunters. The Micro-Changers Kreons, Generations, Constructibots are gonna be my main focus.

I see Hasbro making the new deluxe figures more easy to Transform similar to a little over 10 years ago when Hasbro went from some complicated deluxe RiD molds to some really easy deluxe Armada molds.

Don't take my previous post wrong. I don't mind simple transforming toys. BW Wave 1 and Armada were new simple molds and fun, but both of those of those suffered for a gimmick that was fun to play with. BW for the mutants face and Armada for the minicons. They weren't molds sold at a smaller scale in the previous year. I like that Hasbro is moving back to a simple play model for kids, I just wish it meant getting new molds and not rehashed ones.

I understand that complaint, but making all new designs for a toyline which will continue past the show's end, and is not selling well on top of that, would cost them a lot more money than upscaling figures.

What they've done is provided an easy option for kids moving into 2014, and saving/freeing up money for Generations and the upcoming TF4 movie line. You'd rather them spend that money making new rescue-bot-level molds for the prime - rise of the predacons subline? :-\ They killed two birds with one stone.

I will only bitch if the TF4 line is overly simple, or generations takes a nose dive. I see no evidence of either of those things happening, so it seems like a win/win for us. Prime ends gracefully, and we get better adult-level figures. Hell, they're giving us Rhinox and a TAILGATE! I can't be mad as Hasbro for cutting come costs somewhere.
