What, the "good entertainment" or the "crap made solely for them" part?

 

The "crap made solely for them" part.

 

I must've missed that. Apart from some missteps (chief among them being the direction they went with Dufus Drake, and the complete lack of a genuine Mighty Ducks [the awesome cartoon, not the movie] crossover), I did mostly enjoy DuckTales 2017.

 

What I wanted from Prime was for it to be what the 2012 TMNT series was for TMNT.

What I got instead was basically just a better version of the movies (which isn't that hard to achieve anyways so it doesn't really feel like an accomplishment worth noting-) with lots of wasted potential, missed opportunities and repetitive story formula.

 

The Rik Alverez panel definitely put a spotlight on what sounded like a completely dysfunctional team from the get-go that never could agree on what direction to go in. You got a bunch of cool ideas that on their own would have been interesting that instead got truncated into essentially side stories that didn't matter, hamstrung by terrible writing after the first season, with absolutely no interest in doing the one thing Prime was supposed to do which was form the backbone of the multi-branching Aligned continuity.

That's why we ended up with "Transformers Status Quo" because everything had to be truncated and able to be swapped off from an ongoing story quickly. I don't believe for a second the story from the internal team about how they ended up burning through multiple seasons worth of content in one season, that just meant you didn't have material for more than one season and didn't recognize it. And of course, they flat out admitted they couldn't even come up with a better plot for the whole Breakdown/Bulkhead feud other than DEAD FUCKING PARTNERS all over again.

 

So Kevin Smith with MOTU. Fucker lied about being a fan and what his show was about.

 

Reminds me of how Jack Horner developed his T-Rex hate boner.

He's a massive hadrosaur fan (and a contrarian, so he often starts shit just cause, ala 'T-Rex is purely a scavenger and sucked at hunting'). And according to him, almost every time they looked for hadrosaurs, they'd find T-Rex fossils.

This for some reason incensed him and eventually led to Spinosaurus being heavily pushed and eventually hated by a lot of people (young me included).

Seriously though, what kind of loser would be pissed at finding Tyrannosaurus fossils?

 

And thus began the long time burying of Truck Dad.

 

I mean tbf, that's what happened with that German guy with the funny mustache.

 

Sound design is like lighting and is just as important and can make or break whatever they're apart of.

When done well, no one (initially) notices or cares.

When done poorly, it's rightfully shit on.

 

Jetfire would've been an awesome addition to Team Prime.
