"We plan on building a story throughout the season that contains far less filler and is leading towards an end goal instead of "OOPS Unicrons here! and heres all this information we toss at you at once, and all those McGuffins we've collected don't com into play at all" "

......Is the answer I would like.

I could only be a sane Transformers fan when I realized that it didn't make any sense to worry more about continuity than the actual writers and producers.

It's by now very well-established that the actual form of each bot changes with the artist and the chosen design style, and that events tend to happen in what TVTropes calls "Broad Strokes." Long as I get my toys...

This is actually a lot easier to swallow than the Prime/WFC thing, really; different art styles aside (which, as IDW has shown, means nothing to Transformers), there's nothing really to contradict, since the two shows take place across the whole US from one another and it's only Optimus moving between the two bases.

Yeah But the issue is what you do with those characters, Prime has in NO WAY utilized it's character to anything RESEMBLING thier full potential

    Lets break it down.
Megatron - Spent a great deal of time in a Coma, most of his history we get in flashback narrated by autobots.

    Soundwave - Doesn't talk (YET)

Starscream - OK we're doing good here.

Knockout - potential but not enough usage other just being genericly awsome

Break Down - Totally A+ they're using him to the full and I see bright things ahead, no problems there.

Airachnid - Just go away. We get it, your bad. blah blah blah

Vehicons - thier generic foot soldiers

As for the autobots. we essentially have two. Bee can't talk and Prime & Ratchet rarely leave/do anything. so it's just arcee and Bulkhead. which are fine characters but between thier overuse and the fact that no one even SNAPS at Miko....just weakens them.

There's only one reason to have these two shows in the same continuity: crossovers.

I certainly don't think there's ever going to be a storyline that starts on one series and ends on the other, but I would like to see some characters show up in their neighbor's yard, especially in the toylines.

I figured it was the same continuity the second they mentione dead Cybertron and made the robots work with government officers. No surprise.

Cool, nice to see official word on the connection. And I'm all for the Rescue Bots making an appearance in Prime, even if it does end up nothing more than a quick cameo.

Okay, but so far Optimus has had just one brief appearance and then has just appeared on a monitor in RB, so it's not like he has had to leave Jasper, NV much at all...they should show him bridging to the RB base every other week or so...or vice versa. :thumb

Also, why does RB seem to set more in the not too distant 'future' and how will they explain that...the 'we're a high tech test island' story? :inquisiti

Good try...but already we have differences that will start the questions and comments.

I was hoping that Rescue Bots and Prime wouldn't be in the same continuity, but oh well... I'm going to try to watch Rescue Bots now, can anybody provide a link to the first two episodes? I've been searching YouTube (I don't get the Hub) and no luck...

I honestly don't care one way or the other. It neither bothers nor excites me.

I knew they were in the same universe! Wasn't too hard to figure!

And RB cameos and such in Prime? And vice versa? Hell yeah! I would love to see Prime version of Heatwave and Blades. Tho I do hope things between the two shows can affect each other, such as all the disasters from Unicron overwhelming the RB.

And...what Orio said...I'd love some awesome RB toys!

Moreprimeland, I guess RB doesn't feel that far in the future to me, if at all. It's an area where they test new technology, so naturally it's gunna seem like they're more advanced. Plus I think the Prime series in itself to me seemed somewhat in the future as well (with some of Mech's weapons and the like).

Bumblebee765, there are no eps on youtube, tho there are clips. The eps I think got yanked down, but you can find torrents of them.
