Nevermind, I saw it.

 

The only thing i dislike about this toy is the fact that we got robbed of a leader Star Saber and Deszaras because of it.

Apart from that, the fact that there are people who look at this toy and think it's shit haunts my soul. It makes me question my very existance.

The original toy is notorious for breaking. The backpack has Gold^^^Brown Plastic Syndrome, and the hinge attaching the backpack to the torso is so unstable it can crack off even if the rest of the backpack doesn't.

Arguably it doesn't look much more or less legit than the original. Kind of endearing in a really lazy way.

 

You are right this isn't BW Primal, it's POTP Primal, a completely new and different character who we won't see until May when he debuts in the POTP series.

 

This looks amazing, in my opinion the best Primal figure yet, I have the original BW Optimal and I can already tell this new POTP version is far superior in a few areas such as posability, stability, playability etc. I look forward to seeing the debut of this character in The Power of the Primes cartoon series which airs this May I believe.

Agreed. We will get them though and at least they're not likely to use these dang stickers.
In these pics, it appears as though all of the detail on the side of Primal's hover board mode are stickers. That's just NOT prime.

I... don't really get the people saying the original is surperior? While this is based on the Optimal Optimus character, it's an entirely new toy with an entirely new gimmick, not an update of the original. Did people just miss the whole "Evolution" gimmick and totally ignore the smaller Optimus Primal? This toy does things that the original could'nt and is not mean't to be completely like the original.

And people need to give up on the tank mode. The tank mode on the original was hot garbage and could only REALLY generously be called a seperate mode. I'd be surprised if this toy couldn't achieve it as well, given that it was just folding the arms forward while in jet mode, albeit without the wheels.

I just don't like that the smaller Primal is an accessory to himself instead of the large one augmenting the smaller one. It doesn't FEEL like an evolution gimmick the way the other two molds do.

 

You know, I do believe I like that better than the original. I could see myself getting it. I haven't busted out the original optimal Optimus and well over a decade anyway

 

Give me PRIMAL PRIME with a faceplate and I'd pay $60. That's all I'm saying. I'm likeing this mold a lot.

The so called Surfboardimus Primal Minor is sure a great addition to this Optimal Optimus

 

Because the figure looks ridiculously fun? That's 95% of the reason I buy toys. The other 5% is interest in the character. So this figure fills up 100% of what I look for in a toy.

 

This new Optimal Optimus sure is more articulated, better proportions

 

i just want a 3rd Party to make add-on parts to bring the Tank mode back...

Perhaps, but at the same time this toy does the Evolution arguably better, as both the armour and Optimus Primal are fuctioning on their own, so you can have the smaller Optimus out and not just have a pile of useless kibble as is the case with Optimus Prime and Rodimus Prime.
