    Booya.

    Well?

They met Spider-Man. Deaths Head crept out of the Transformers titles and into his own. Twice. So... part of the 616 or not?

I'm not sure any self respecting heroes would have let an alien civil war rage on their planet without having something to say about it.

    DISCUSS.

Because Twin Twist demanded it, on topic:

Yeah I think you could consider it part of the marvelverse.

I agree you'd think Captain America or Iron Man or someone would have a little something to say if a car and a jet transformed right next to them and started beating the hell out of each other...

Maybe the G1 'bots were better at the whole 'robots in disguise' thing than we give them credit for;)

so when did they meet spiderman? i have to see that.

it would be neat to see some crossovers with marvel characters, but at the same time i like the fact they have thier own universe. if superheroes were involved it would take something away from tf's, they wouldnt be the all powerful giant robots they are supposed to be.

    *Looks at everybody*

Seriously you guys do know that the Marvel Transformer comic started with Spidey being an ally of the Autobots at the beginning.

Marvel owns Death's Head and the Neo Knights.

Marvel's official statement was that they were going to be at first, but than they fealt that the Transformers would be to big a challenge for most of their "heroes & villains". They decided that it was going to be an alternate version of the marvel-verse after the whole Spider-Man appearance. That's what they stated waaaaaaayyy back when... back when I actually read those things. GI Joe had the same problem...

Not to sure about Death's Head though since I've not read alot of the Marvel UK stuff... except for that one chick that had the X-Men show up in her comics alot. Don't remember her name though. That and Mys-tech wars... read that...

Anyways, back on topic, I think it boiled down to the TFs would pose too big a challenge to their normal marvel superheroes and they were afraid that they might possibly write themselves into a corner. Not like they haven't manny times since then.

It was waaaaaayy back in issue #3. Spidey was in the black costume. This was around the time that the costume was revealed to be a symbiote so there was an asterisk stating that the story in TF #3 took place before Amazing Spiderman #258.

I remember reading at least one letter in the GI Joe Marvel comics asking why superheroes never showed up in there and they would use this as a basis for their argument. Spidey was in TF, then they had the GI Joe/TF crossover, therefore some fans felt that superheroes could be in GI Joe comics.

Nope. Its obviously an offshoot of it since it has a Savage Land and a Spider-Man, but theres no continuity between it and the rest of the Marvel line. Giant fighting robots wouldent be left unchecked, San Fransisco isn't a giant smoking crater in the MU, Primus/Unicron doesent mesh with the pantheon of higher-plane and conceptual beings that make the MU tick and the list goes on.

Deaths Head jumped througth time so many times its not much of a stretch to think that he crossed universes and/or timelines at some point.

Shockwave used the remaining power reserves of Cybertron to power the transport of the Transformers from the Marvel 616 Universe after the Spiderman encounter. Logic dictated the need for this because the likelyhood of the super powered flesh creatures to interfere in his plans was too great and the Decepticons would not be able to suck the planet dry with their interference. Booyah!

The TF's started in the Marvel U 616, but was shifted to the GI joe univers by the Beyonder after he met Circutbreaker durring Secret Wars 2.

He had taken control of the whole world and when he met CB and learned of her plight it made him realize that it was the same as what he had done to the rest of the world. So when he relased the world, he just shifted all those and things related to TF's to their own world.

(at least that's what I wrote in back in the 80's when i tried to win a no prize when this same topic was brought up in one of their letter pages.) :D

Can we not just put this in the same category as "Where was (Insert superteam here!) when this thing was going on!?!?!?!?!??!!!"

I would say that they are part of the 616, as are GI JOE. Hell, the Avengers don;t show up every time Sentinels start slaughtering mutants, why would they show up when 20 foot tall robots are fighting each other in utah?
