Okay first of all, you're equating things I'm saying to things other people have said. I'm not going to complain about lack of marketing before a trailer drops.

Secondly, my issue with this is that it's kinda pointless? It's not like any of us are going to space to watch the trailer premiere. I'd rather put a premiere somewhere people can... y'know... reach it? Am I crazy for thinking it would have been smarter and infinitely cheaper to make the public trailer premiere something people can actually attend?

It really just comes down to length of exposure rather than magnitude. Having a trailer early on creates a feeling of buzz whereas launching a rocket (for some reason?) will generate conversation, but not at the duration or length an early trailer would have.

So yes, if we had to choose between an earlier trailer or a rocket, not everyone would choose the rocket.

It’s standing out that matters, as they said it’s the first trailer in space so that by itself will draw attention

Sounds very entitled. Fans on these forums need to realize that general audiences are actually fully capable of being interested in transformers, or may take interest in the origins of the characters on their home planet. Not everything is directed at you or made specifically for you. So yeah, finally, general audiences are allowed to actually learn anything about Optimus and megatron, and it’s very likely casual fans who have only seen the movies will take interest. Wild I know

No I get that part, but it's blatantly obvious that nobody will watch it. It's just a weird bit of publicity to air your trailer completely and utterly out of public reach.

It's.. it's being live streamed.. people can watch on their devices the same way they would an actual trailer release on youtube..

Man, since when did tfw become full of individuals that just seethe with negativity and cynicism? I mean I get not trusting Paramount with anymore movies but there's a difference between that and just always being negative and shitting on anything they do

Then don't call it a long awaited origin if this is an all new story.
