The critic reviews are starting to trickle in (just do a quick Google search). Transformers One is killing it! The movie will eventually be "certified fresh" once Rotten Tomatoes starts uploading the reviews to their site. It might be in the 90% range when all is said and done!

In this complete review he equates Madame Web with Alien Romulus as two meaningless projects

I sort of understand some of his issues with One, but ultimately it looks like he was looking for something completely different

That's the dickhead I am talking about. And before anyone asks "He's a dickhead because he doesn't like a movie that you like??" Yes...yes. He's a dickhead because he doesn't like a movie that I like.

FWIW he kind of just didn’t care about the movie in general. I think this is the problem with modern critics. Some of them have preconceived biases towards movies before they actually see them. This 100% affects their feelings towards it, unless it truly blows them away somehow.

I reviewed games for a podcast (kinda still do) for a few years and if I was offered a game in a genre I did not enjoy, I'd turn it down. I was not the right reviewer to give that game (that was the hard work of some developers) a fair score.

Edit: Just realized he's from indieWire. Mystery solved. All makes sense. Hippie movie reviewer. Unless Orion was smoking a huge joint, or having sex with multiple transformers while discussing life, the movie was doomed.

Lmaooo well yeah to each their own. Either way, he’s definitely going to be a minority opinion. With ROTB’s first reviews we had like 5 rotten and 10 fresh so it was pretty clear what the consensus was. With One I think the overwhelming majority will be positive.

Yup. I expect the ratio to be exactly that. For every 15 or so positive there may be one negative.

Honestly like Razor said, modern critics can be so damn frustrating. I swear if they’re about to review a movie that they like won’t care about they should either drop their bias and watch and review the movie as it is. Or just not even bother to review it in the first place if it doesn’t even interest them. That one critic is a perfect example that cements the problem with these critics.

I’ll take those odds, shame that TFO and Wild Robot may not have 100% on RT but it is what it is.

Hopefully we start to see those tickets sales increase as well.

From what I have seen from how poorly Joker 2’s presales is going on the Box Office Subreddit, TFO and The Wild Robot will dominate the box office for the weeks to come until Venom 3 comes out. It seems that those two movies will likely coexist and perhaps not cannibalise each other so far according to some presale information.

We’ll have to see as Joker 2 gets closer but I won’t be suprised along with it’s got a bigger budget than the original so it now needs to make more to profit. If we can get the two to coexist and to good together would be great for both. The lower budget than a LA film will help also.

And sometimes there's the contrarian factor, where they want to stand out as the one (or few) negatives, so people will read their hippie article.
