There's probably going to be some things early that they differ on, with it coming to a boiling point in the climax. Since it looks like Starscream is running the Decepticons...I'm curious to see if they get in to what leads to Megatron deposing him.

It's like Star Wars, right? That franchise has started doing things as varied in tone from Young Jedi Academy to Andor.

That's how you grow the franchise. You find ways to engage younger audiences and then develop content that they can follow through with as they get older and seek more challenging ideas.

But if people think children's shows can't be thought provoking for audiences both young and old....Bluey is a thing.

    I'm still intrigued.

"Bad-ass-itron" made me crungo but I thought the wheels popping-out joke was pretty amusing, plus... I think it's a pretty reasonable issue for them to run into. :lol

The possible appearance of Quintessons also makes me quite curious, overall I think the designs look pretty decent.. visually it looks quite good but that's to be expected for the money involved + the studio doing it. Spotted Starscream, Soundwave, Shockwave... what I think appears to be Ravage? Airachnid (ew), Sentinel Prime (I assume he's the blue and gold bot picked up by the Quint, kinda looks more generic than I was hoping, but that's only an assumption on my part).

I'm gonna keep my expectations at a reasonable level, and I'm not really interested in the whole the whole fandom brand worship / hype-train / obnoxious toxic positivity stuff so I'll just leave it at that.

Most toy sales are still kids (well, purchases made for kids). Adult collectors are a significant part of the market, more than ever before, but we're not the backbone and will never be. Not while the franchise is as big as it is, at least. If you want to see what a forgotten toy franchise supported by adult fans looks like, there's always G. I. Joe... just not on toy shelves, of course.

A good kids movie can also be enjoyed by adults. See:

    Into the Spiderverse
Puss In Boots: The Last Wish
The How to Train Your Dragon trilogy
    Kung Fu Panda
    Shrek
    Wreck It Ralph
    Treasure Planet

All kids movies. All still pretty good to watch as adults.

I was hoping for something inline with Bumblebee\'s opening... Instead it\'s tween Pixar bollocks.

The link didn't work for me at first, giving me another hour countdown after the first. Luckily refreshing fixed it. I thought it was one of those countdowns to a countdown. :lol

They don't even tell the war for Cybertron and the only thing mature on them are the fights. And yes we've had many mature versions of the war for Cybertron but none of them in the mainstream. Transformers can be so much but it'll prove to the general public again it's just a childish franchise to sell toys. Well, asking for FOC level of quality was too much

This thread so far: A bunch of people who can't identify a joke unless it's written in blue letters complain that the jokes in this trailer aren't funny enough.

    Hmmm

The animation looks fantastic! And I don't hate Hemsworths Orion voice. Kinda think the comedy is over done in this trailer, but from some of the shots there seems to be a much stronger emotional core of the film that isn't focused on.

Overall I'm cautiously optimistic. I find it hard to be super excited for Transformers films after the Last Knight, but this looks better than normal.

To be fair, the 86 movie had 2 seasons prior chronologically so there was more of a build up whereas this starts fresh. This 1 instead launches a movie 1st so the only expectation is to hopefully be as good or better than movies that came before it. Impossible to tell from a trailer but it obviously deviates from the way Michael Bay had the Transformers portrayed and feels more from the outset as the start of something all new.

The fact that the designs are immediately recognizable and that Orion doesn’t seem like he will become a leader who wants to rip faces/heads off down the line is a good start.

Spider verse being called GOOD kids movie seems like a disservice to the film
