Yeah, I personally get really excited for all & every new Transformers toylines w/ new gimmicks & new ideas. Dating back to the 1st one, BEAST WARS, & every one since then. CYBERTRON ANIMATED RID (both) ect. That's why this "Nezha x Transformers" toyline is super interesting to me. I especially like brand new cartoons matched with new toy releases. Yes it is. What I said was G1 is what's holding the brand together right now. And that's what Transformers media is coming out right now (2019-2020), just Generation One. No other then the 2 G1 series. Only movie toys otherwise. I didnt say there was no demand. About G1, Hasbro hasnt been giving us NEW G1 toys that long now. They kinda did it in 2006 -2008 with "new designs" in the Classics & Classics 2.0, lines. But FULL G1 redo's only started a few years ago during the past trilogy. I myself am glad they are finally re- doing characters again. I waited around 20 years for them to make them & now that I'm a full grown adult they finally did. And I dont even mess around with my toys nearly as much as even 5 years ago. (I still collect em all, tho).
That’s unfair to the rest of us that didn’t grow up with G1. You’ve been getting everything you could have ever wanted for the last five, six or more years, not counting the past CHUG lines that have been predominantly G1. Transformers isn’t just G1, and G1 isn’t what holds the brand together. Not by a long shot. On top of that, saying you’ve never gotten any “new” G1 toys is pure BS.
Pretty rad honestly. I'm totally down for other Asian representation in Transformers! Hopefully this won't be too hard to get!
Hopefully we get other deities from the taoist pantheon. If this does well ,hastak should do other pantheons from asia like hinduism , shintoism and buddhism.
Well you know how Japan loves to appropriate Chinese culture. The creators of Inuyasha probably got the inspiration from this ancient deity. I showed this to my GF and she said watched the Nezha cartoon religiously as a kid. As did all the kids she knew. Nezha is hugely popular so I think this will have a big appeal in mainland China.
Video review from Weibo Sina Visitor System I DL it and shared a mirror. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=422293238676381 Screencaps
Id G1 has only been really addressed for 3 years. Combiner Wars kinda in 2015, but mostly Titans Return, Power of the Primes, & War for Cybertron Siege. Retail. But I wouldnt worry too much Hasbro will bring more stuff out before Transformers is over. I'd love to see new Animated figures or Beast Machines, or Robots in Disguise 2001, Armada/Cybertron. Even TF Prime they all deserve their due sometime I agree with you there. But also I never said that they havent gotten any new G1 Transformers, I said that Hasbro hasnt been focusing on giving us just new G1 Transformers for that long. New clarifying new molds of G1 figures havent been as long as it might feel.
I'd be more interested in this, but I'm not a big fan of 'flesh-deco' on my Transformers (I skipped the Street Fighter ones for the same reason). It's funny it's only because of this toyline that I finally found out that movie I watched all those years ago back when I was a kid was called Nezha Conquers the Dragon King. I may consider getting this TF just for that, and possibly Sun Wukong, if they release him.
I for one welcome our Chinese mecha-overlords. It's nice to see that there are three characters involved. I think I liked the look of the other two more in the promo vid. I don't know if I'll buy any of them but they certainly have my attention.
This is higher quality than I expected China has a lot of high quality transforming toy brands now, I wouldn't be surprised if the Transformers:Nezha toys are going to be a better value than worldwide Transformers to compete with Chinese toys
For those here, who were lambasting the "Chinese-centric" slant of Hasbro's latest release. Edit: - Ninja'd
