Looks like the collab isn't over yet https://twitter.com/MTGSecretLair/status/1598059295806996485 Edit: All the cards revealed: A sneak peak at Magic: The Gathering’s Transformers series Mod edit: Mirrored images
They do nothing for me either but neat for the idea of trying to depict what Earth's environment could look like on Cybertron.
I may get the roll out one just for the art. I do think that the responses to the post is a bunch of people calling them greedy doesn't bode well for MtG
The TF cards are crazy expensive for secret lairs. There's 3 sets, 14 total cards. Megs, Prime, Allspark is 1 set, the 6 colored spells are 1 set, and the 5 lands are another set. EACH SET is $29.99 non foil and $39.99 foil. That's $90-$120 for 14 cards! Past secret lairs have had as many as 17 cards for $30-$40 for the versions. For those that want them, the final cards will have 'normal' colored hues on the cards, sometimes press release card samples are weirdly over saturated.
So were the lunchbox, T-shirt, and playmat just sent as promotion and not part of the sale when you by it?
$30 total would have been a bit much, but still buyable for the full set of these novelties. $90 is a hard HELL NO. Not paying commander prices for less than 20 cards
This is what I want to know too. I’m more interested in the lunchbox than the cards lol (they make great totes for spare parts/weapons).
So that is a press-promo? BOOO.. I don't really want the cards as much as that box and the translucent cell art.
The art on those Lands cards is very pretty, I love the Plains one in particular. I also like the cute touch of Brawn fighting Skullcruncher in the background of the Swamp one. I do find some of the mold choices the art is based off of interesting. Like using Universe 2.0 Kup and Hound rather than their more recent updates (Kup especially, his SS86 toy's been out quite a while), or Core Megatron for Fabricate's card art as opposed to the voyager toy.
