Reminds me of the transforming VW Bug clip from a year (two years?) ago. Maybe the same guy submitted this to ILM as a portfolio piece. Or not... I dunno. Either way it looks great.

Dude, it is just experimentation, hence the phrase "test footage." Since the licences have yet to be sorted out they'd have picked a car at random, probably from the ILM parking lot.

Assuming this is the genuine article and not the work of a fanboy with too much talent, computing power and time on his hands, that is.

Whoa! Looks pretty damn good for test footage. If that's legit, then my faith in at least the look of the final product just shot way up. That car probably won't actually be used, but the transformation sequence itself rocks and if the CGI looks that good now, think about what it'll look like in the end.

Whether this is legit or not it rocks. If it's not legit that rocks even more because the legit footage from a professional studio will likely look better. Now to see them walk, talk, shoot, punch, kick and fly will be something else.

I don't like it much really. Pretty uninspired and unappealing. Doesn't seem believable to anyone beyond the already established fan base. This rendition of a Transformer has a cute and campy Power Ranger feel to it. Still, can't wait to see how the final product plays out. The evolution of bringing the TFs to the big screen will be interesting to see.

Wow...that was really neat! Hope it's legit though. If it is, I'd say they're getting off to a good start.

Urabob, I don't see whats 'cute and campy'. It's a giant robot.

On another note, I've discovered its fully possible to be so impressed as to lose control of my bowels. Excuse me.

DANG!! I about weeweed in my pants.
Its just test footage, then the quiality will be way low, its just for seeing how they will move, TF, and interact, and to show some of the big wigs without any imagination how it will look.

That's some pretty awesome stuff right there. I love it. But, considering it won't be around until 2007, I try to not get too excited. I tend to be an impatient person when it comes to things. And I love Transformers a whole lot. So if I get too excited about something that I have to wait a year and 7 months to see, my brain would implode and I would never see the movie because I would be dead.
However, if anyone has a working time machine, a Tardis or a Delorian or somthing, then I'd be more than happy to start getting thrilled.

I'm impressed and does look like early testing, like they just filmed some stage hand doing reactions (cause that face that I can make it looks dumb as heck) but not bad at all. The car model does look a little old but why does it all have to be newer model cars. I'd get a kick of seeing a Pimpmobile Jazz if he makes it in. Hmm who would do that voice though. (hope not snoop, then we would have to have a rap soundtrack but for Jazz and blaster I can understand the bass booming)

Test? Not bad for a test.

Surely this will improve in time. Hopefully the transformations will be much more faster than what was shown here. It just seemed a little too slow for it to be a Transformer. Sure, it's great to see the actual individual parts move but for the movie's sake I pray they all don't transform that slow. Overall, it still put a smile to my face. :)
