As far as I recall, Hanks sang "Transformers! More than meets the eye! Autobots nananananananana the Decepticons!"

Yeah, everyone makes it sound like Hanks is a HUGE Transformers fan. I mean come on. All he did was sing the theme song.

I think that 1) the XL Actor is going to actually BE in the movie, not as a voice
    2) Someone who WANTS to be in the TF movie is a all-out or closet nerd, so that's somewhat limiting. So here's the nerds with BO appeal:

    Vin Diesel: Self-Proclaimed D&D enthusiast
Freddie Prinze Jr: Loves comic books, I could see him as having grown up with TF
Jude Law: Has a tattoo of Rorshack from Watchmen, also a huge nerd

Jessica Alba can do anything she wants as far as I'm concerned.

You know, Malcolm McDowell as megatron would be a great choice. Besides, he's done work on DC animated projects, and performed well. I'm kind of liking that idea.

Tom and Colin Hanks for Sparkplug and Spike would be a great inclusion, methinks. They both have that "everyman" thing going for them, as well as an obvious father-son relationship.

I don't care who they get, so long as it works out, but I do look at some stars for Live Action or VA roles and think "that'd be a great idea!" In the event they are not chosen, however, I do expect to be pleasantly surprised by either an unexpected star or a newcomer who will be surprisingly appropriate for the role.

I won't predispose myself to disappointment over someone getting or not getting a role, however.

He's got a penchant for talking birds - if something "unthinkable" happened and Laserbeak or Buzzsaw got a voice, he's your man. :p

People who are horriefied to find that a star is going to be in the film are a touch hypocritical. Most of todays young hot celebrities grew up with Transformers. If you got the chance to be in this movie, you'd take it. Don't give me any crap about how you only would do it if it was a character you could do the voice of. If Don Murphy walked up to you tomorow and said "play Optimus Prime", you'd do it.

No, that was Chuck Norris. Remember the story of Primus and Unicron's fight at the beginning of existence in which Primus threw him into an asteroid? That was Chuck Norris. Then Chuck Norris roundhouse kicked the nothingness around him, told it to "get a job", and thus the Big Bang Theory of our universe. :thumbs2:

My expectations do tend to get a little lower because I am a fanboy and want to see the show I love from when I was a kid. I know that some stuff has to change, but I'm scared that the nostalgia will be lost for the sake of trying to make a summer blockbuster, when in fact the nostalgia could make it an even bigger blockbuster. But like I said in my other post, at least soon all the controversey will be over one way or another.

As for big names, I pray the larger stars are used as real people so that there is still a chace for getting good voice actors to do the TFs. How's this:

    Spike--Colin Hanks
    Sparkplug--Tom Hanks
    Carly--Jessica Alba

That would take care of your big names, leaving the likes of Mark Hammil, Peter Cullen, Frank Welker, Peter Spellos, Doug Parker, Scott McNeil, Wally Wingert, Kevin Conroy, and Neil Kaplan to do some of the TFs. There are so many great voice actors out there who would put every big Hollywood name to shame in the VA department.

    Will Smith as Jazz.

    He's friends with Bay.
    He's an XL Actor.
He's done voice work in the past.
And he's got history for blockbuster films released on the 4th of July weekend.

Tho Vin Diesel has a voice that would make for a great Decepticon. (not talking about megs or screamer, but maybe one of the other seekers)

Personally, I'd rather have Will Smith contribute in no way to the movie. Just me, though.
