In other news, I didn't win the Grammy for best new metal song this year either.

I dunno, the whole toy hall of fame thing is weird. It's mostly adults deciding what deserves to be in there based on memories of being a child. Granted, if we let kids decide every year it'd be some three-month old cult-status icon that nobody will remember next year, so I guess I'm lost as to what the point is.

The build quality and feel of the plastic has really gone downhill in the last 5-6 years of Transformers lines. Pick up any voyager or leader class figure from the Cybertron or the first RID line. Those guys could survive a year inside a kindergarten classroom.

When I got Generations Metroplex a few years ago, I accidentally bent his foot panels a bit too far and the black plastic turned white from all tension. I was like WTF biggest Transformer ever also has some KO level plastic.

CW I will defend because c'mon let's be honest they weren't going to make individual molds for all the combiner teams. It's just not how Hasbro operates. It doesn't bother me much since we get them cheaper and I display mine in combined form. However, they really managed to screw up CW Devastator with that awful neon yellow green whatever paint scheme and the oversized figures. These types of decisions create the need for 3rd party figures and if you wait long enough you can get some great ones for real cheap. I bought TFC Hercules for $100 on the BST board and UT Warlord from BBTS for $124.

Maybe next year the THOF will choose a better character to represent the franchise than Twin Twist?

Okay, that's big fat hairy balls. Anyone watching the vote knows it was a shoot-out between PEZ and Matchbox with Wiffle Ball bringing up the rear. The fact that the first two were left out either means one of two things.

    1. Someone figured out how to spam for PEZ and MAtchbox and those votes weren't counted.

    or

    2. Our votes never mattered to begin with.

Ok - I'm only pursuing this 'cos it's kind of silly, but in small part 'cos it's kind of serious, so...

Talking about girls like they are "items" is taboo anywhere, but (and here's where it's relevant to TFW!) *ESPECIALLY* taboo in cool/niche places where there are suddenly a small amount of awesome girls & could either be "more girls" or "no girls ever, suddenly."

(TBF: on TFW, we don't "talk about guys." So...)

I think it's even better to say "I prefer playing with girls to playing with Transformers" than it is to say "Let's induct 'Girls' into the Toy Hall of Fame" (jocks have been saying that to me since Middle School! :lol ).

Personal weird-af story: I am a guy, but I play girl characters in videogames 'cos they're faster/lighter, and IRL, I'm not a bulky dude, like most male characters. Thought I had this figured, but then MMO's came around; for a while, there were no problems, and lots of people actually just *KNEW* I was a guy (and I didn't do any "girly" stuff or "guy" stuff, I just played the character - a healer in WoW). I'm not much for FPS, but Destiny was such a big deal that I picked it up, and, sure enough, made a magic-lady character. Sure enough, some dude came around while I was in the headquarters/merchant/upgrade area, got behind my character, and started crouching/un-crouching, repeatedly. At first I was confused, but then I moved away, 'cos I realized he was, umm - humping me. So, after he wouldn't leave me alone when I moved a few times, I wrote him a message saying that if he was so excited to see a girl playing Destiny that he had to hump her on sight, and would like to perhaps see *MORE* girls play Destiny, he oughtn't hump them on sight, because that's not behavior they consider encouraging for a return visit.

-- and also told him he'd just humped a dude.

So, I submit to you that, even though it is sometimes much better to play with girls than to play with Transformers, we probably all shouldn't make "girls" the topic of conversation, or equated to an "item," 'cos that kinda talk [rightly] pisses them off.

(Although as a Transformers fan (knowing the context) I can see it as the highest of compliments, let's err on the side of caution, here!)

Dat's what I've been saying. For as much as people like to bitch about the legitimacy (or lack) of Hasbro fan-vote stuff, this one seemed far more obvious about it

We can make our own Toy Hall of Fame, with Blackjack and Hookers.

In fact, forget the Toy Hall of Fame.

Well, as someone who is friends mostly to girls: trust me, the way guys are talking about girls is harmless. What girls are talking about men and especially in what detail is much worse. And they do that, because they think we would do the same anyway. But we're mostly just joking. So there's a difference. If you knew what girls are talking about us, you'd never touch a girl again

Joke's on you, girls don't talk to me anyway.

Wait, I think that means the joke's on me...

    What's this thread about again?

Oh right, paper airplanes and friggin' Wiffle Balls (not "wife balls", autocorrect) won.
You know, I would be less upset if they just said "fuck it, sand is the winner. Sand is the best toy ever. Everyone can just suck it."

That is actually not a bad idea.
No pain, cheap stickers and a price of $29.99
