    Transformers beat by... paper planes.

I guess that makes sense; you can go to the store and get paper for a plane; no guarantee of buying a Transformer.

considering how hollow a lot of tf's are these days, a wiffle ball is basically a transformer, right?

Maybe if they'd stop making trash movie figures and go back to making actually good stuff, they'd have a better shot.

I think at this point "3P Transforming Toys" deserve more of a spot in the Hall of Fame than "Transformers" do.

Is this the same or a different thing than the poll some people were repeatedly harping on? Last I remember, Matchbox cars and Pez dispensers were kicking all ass in the polls, but they didn't win. Perhaps some last-minute turnarounds?

Well, when you really think about it, paper planes are kind of transformers.

Age of Extinction was a blot on the Transformers movie toyline. However, the last decade of movie figures, with the exception of course being Age of Extinction, have been amazing. Not sure what you’re on about. “Go back to making good stuff” Pretty sure they are. We’ve gotten some good movie figures but there’s also Titans Return and the future Power of the Primes toyline. Even the warrior class figures from RID15 have been pretty good.

I'd say that Clue is a little iffy. I didn't much care for the board game or the movie growing up. Sure as hell would have board games such as Risk (sorry, haven't read through all of them from the past) in there well before Clue. Wiffleballs and paper airplanes make sense to me though.

    Happy to be of service.

Granted, I favor Generations much more than Movie figures, but even I have to admit that Generations is on a slow but steady decline.

Classics through Thrilling 30 had mostly good, solid figures. Very little mold reuse, except when it made the most sense (paralleling G1 reuses).

CW -> TR -> PotP... although there are mostly good designs, the repaint/reuse quota has skyrocketed. The worst part is that it was SO PERVASIVE in CW, that we became desensitized to it and turned it into a game "What other character could this mold be used for??" Plastic quality is going down while crappy foil stickers in favor of paint apps is on the rise.

Each Generations line is just a little worse than the one before it, but not enough to raise a huge stink at any one transition. It's like a frog being boiled in water. The change is so gradual, it doesn't realize what's going on.

I do think that RiD design quality is on the rise, but part of me thinks that their aim is to simplify Generations while improving RiD a little bit to the point where they are basically the same quality toys. We just won't notice it until it's too late.
