So what transformers memories do you have from childhood that you'd like to share? When I was little, I was more GI Joe centric, but I still had some transformers

one memory that stands out is, I was never able to transform Scattershot (G1). partially because he was a little complicated (for a 6 year old) but the joints on my scattershot were super tight.

My Dad breaking my Optimus Prime, Christmas '84.

    "Stupid bloody toy..."

And then following this up by breaking Megatron, Christmas '85...

Most memorable to me was the feeling of the excitement and anticipation of buying G1 Soundwave from a TG&Y store way back then. I saved up my lunch money for almost three weeks, then rode my bike on a Saturday morning to the store - it was probably 4 miles away, but to a 11-year old on a Schwinn it felt like a really long trip to Disneyland.

When I got home and opened the box, there was that feeling of releasing a brand new toy from his Styrofoam prison and putting stickers on that's just stuck with me forever.

Er, the discovery on getting home that I'd left my beloved Thunderwing on a campsite in France. Never forgiven myself.

Getting the Movie 2007 Leader Optimus Prime for my birthday, my Mom gave me him but I had to go to school on my Birthday so I had to wait through the whole day to get home and open the figure up. I was very excited :lol

I also still remember going to see the 2007 movie when I was in elementary school and being blown away by how awesome it was. Then afterwards went to Walmart and got my very first Transformer... Barricade. I then saw the movie two more times in theaters.

Most of my childhood TF memories involve playing with them outside with my friends and having big battles. Making the transformation noise over and over again while transforming them was always fun. Man, we beat those toys up. If only we could have known how valuable they would someday be...

Not really childhood but getting my first paycheck from my first job right after high school, RID (2001) was just hitting shelves and I blew my whole check getting Prime, Magnus, Megatron and Rail Racer. I was just so stoked to have vehicle forms return after 5 years of beasts!

I remember my first Transformer (I guess?) was the Han Solo/Chewbacca combiner. I loved flying the thing around firing off the laser effects. Then my first real TF was PCC Huffer with Caliburst. After that I got Skyburst with the aerialbots, Bombshock with the combaticons, and Searchlight with Backwind. I loved the minicons; even though they were a bit interpretive in their "alt-modes" I remember fiddling with them to create new weapon/armor configurations; I think I even tried to combine them together.

    So many....

Watching the movie for the first time at a friends house on VHS in 88 and witnessing the death and carnage and -sniff-Prime!

Sending in Cookie Crisp proof of purchases and waiting a ridiculous 8 weeks for Jazz!

Huge battles in the sand pit behind my house that ended badly for GI Joe thanks to a very mischievous me and parents that didn't watch me grab a can of gas and some matches from the shed.

Transforming Omega Supreme and feeling it literally took hours to do.

Only being able to make Devastator from the chest up for months due to not being able to find the other 3 in stores.

Discovering in 1989 that Big Lots had all the 84-86 toys at wholesale prices

Opening Power Master Prime for my 8th birthday and being so ecstatic.

    And so so many more.

i started first grade in August 1986; one of the second graders had Ultra Magnus at break outside of school and transformed him, finishing with an overdramatic attachment of the head.

me and my best friend assembled the respective 87 combiners, and one the last day of school they fought. Abominus (me) won just before the bell when one of Computron's arms, then his chestplate got knocked off

seeing pretty much all of 84-85 on the shelf at Hallmark; Dirge and Ramjet shelfwarmed until late spring/summer 1987; i got Ramjet, Dirge was gone a few weeks later before i could get him, but i found some shelfwarming at a Ben Franklin in southern Illinois (and all the Predacons, and a bunch of Joes) in summer 1988. i got Dirge, and managed to get Headstrong and Divebomb who were still there in October.

1985. Prior to my 9th birthday, they placed my birthday gift on a padded bench that my Dad liked. With excitement in my breath, I would declare that I was getting a Transformer. On my birthday, at my local Golf n' Stuff, I would open it up and find out that they got me Soundwave.

1987, part 1. I was with my parents at a Price Club (now Costco) in the Simi Valley area. They would offer to buy me a Headmaster, which was Highbrow. It was my only option since they said there were no other options. I wanted to see what else they had since another kid had Hardhead. But I took up the offer and eventually realized that he would be my second favorite Transformer that I would ever own.

1987, part 2. This is not toy related but is Transformers related. This would be the last comic run I would do with my Dad. He took me to a comic shop that resided in downtown Ventura and offered to buy me a comic. I chose "Headmasters #1" and never regretted that decision.

I also have memories of when my two Optimus Primes broke in the same manner, but I do not remember which years those happened. Or the year when my "friend" stole my Tracks. Or when I got other random figures.

transformers came on before i got home from school.. i set the VCR everyday, and would come home from school and watch the day's episode...

I remember finally getting the final piece for devastator (G1 of course).. and i probably transformed him back and forth 1,000 times it was so cool!

    Oh! and i forgot.

When the movie came out, i was old enough to drive.. i drove myself to the White City Oregon movie theater and sat there with like 2 other people in the theater and was absolutely amazed at how great the animation looked.. i think i teared up when Optimus Died.

I clearly remember when I got G1 Hotspot for Easter that year. I can still picture the box in my Easter basket.

Christmas morning, 1984 (or was it '85?) ....and opening up Mirage.

....fast forward 30 years later and watching that Christmas morning on VHS tape, and seeing myself TEAR THROUGH THE MINTY FRESH BOX in sheer excitement.

(thinking to myself, "omg, that poor box.") :/

One of my first TFs was a somewhat busted G1 Barrage. I distinctly remember the first time I discovered the robot mode had actual arms tucked away in the chest. I had always just used the front bug legs as little skinny arms for him lol.
