    hi everyone,

I've finaly decided to start a little masterpiece collection, but I have a problem. Since I'm on an euhm.... tight budget :)  I've decided to only go for those that are size comparable to eachother taking MP10 as the standard. So I know that basically MP10 and the others coming after that one are made to match eachother in scale. I do know that the MP01-02-04-05 are oversized compared to MP10 and beyond and I believe MP08 and MP09 are on the right scale too.

But what about the seekers? Are MP03-06-07 on scale with MP10? I know that MP11 starscream is on scale with Prime but what about skywarp and thundercracker?

And one more question. Does anyone have a link to site with a complete list of all the Masterpieces + the exclusives + hasbro versions. Because trying to figure it all out has gotten me confused :D  (especially in the seekers cases)

    thank you very much everyone!
    bye

If your going for MP-10 size then your probably in luck as the masterpiece line is sort of rebooting at the mo'.

If you have mp 10 prime You'll need
MP 09 - rodimus (Takara version comes with trailer and is cartoon accurate, hasbro has no trailer is the colour of the G1 toy)
    Grimlock MP -08
    Starscream MP 11
    Thundercracker MP 11 repaint

Soundwave and sideswipe are preorders up the mo'

The seeker mold got rebooted with MP-11 so i wouldnt bother getting the older versions

There are other MP's like sunstorm, ultra magnus and nemesis prime but they are repaints.

MP 02 is megatron but would not fit in scale with the new line

    Hope this helps!

MP-11 Starscream is the same as all the other seekers, with some fairly major remolds. Same size and everything.

The seekers are slightly taller than MP-10, I believe.

Pretty much only the original Prime [and his repaints] and Megatron are "out of scale" with the new direction of the MP-Line. The rest are up to you.

And the seekers are not as tall as MP-10.

    Welcome aboard!

Yeah, this can all be a little confusing.

To try and make it as simple as possible, I'll try to help as much I can from my perspective.

As of now, all the Masterpiece figures are in scale with one another except MP-01 Prime, MP-05 Megatron and MP-2 Ultra Magnus. It was actually those figures that were larger and technically out of scale of all the others, so MP-10 fixes this problem.

None of the Seekers have seen a size change and are all still in scale with Mp-10 and the rest. The Seekers have, however, seen a few design changes.

Their have been three versions of Starscream-- the original Takara (in navy grey), the Walmart exclusive (in animation colors) and the Coronation Starscream (in even more accurate color and a new leg design.)

The original Takara Thundercracker and Skywarp were pretty close to animation style and colors, but their later US releases were both more accurate. Thundercracker also has the new leg design while the US version of Skywarp came out before the new design, so he does not have it.

If you want the Seekers, the best versions (in my opinion) are the US versions of Thundercracker and Skywarp, and the MP-11 Coronation Starscream. But, essentially, other than the MP's I mentioned in the beginning, all the Masterpieces are in the same scale, so that probably doesn't help with your budget issues.

As for a complete list, just do a Google search for "Masterpiece Transformers". You should be able to figure it out from there.

    Good luck!

You do know that Skywarp is the old mould and the other two are the new ones don't you? Or is it the Hasbro deco you are preferring on Skywarp?

Some may say the iGear versions are the best (and also the cheapest) as they correct everything that was wrong with the original versions, don't have the stiff look of the new ones and that they also match the MP Coneheads. It's also worthy of note that you can also get coronation gear for the older Starscream:

I think you need to look up MP numbers again ;)

Megatron is MP05. Magnus is MP02. Both out of scale along with MP01 & MP04. Everything else is fair game, it's just a matter of aesthetic preference.

    hi everyone!

thanks for the help. Things are A LOT clearer now! I'm actually happy with the resize on MP10 (dont have TONS of shelf space :D )
I think I'll go with MP8-9-10 and go from there as for the seekers I'll go with MP11 and the thundercracker version of it. Hopefully they'll do a skywarp recolor of it too (suspect they will) AS for sunstorm I'm still undecided on that one, my heart is saying YES! my wallet is screaming ARE YOU MAD?! :D

How many Masterpieces come out each year? (approximatively ofcourse) I have the feeling it's not that many (2-5?) depending on recolors of the same mold or new molds. So once I slowly catch up that would be an amount I can actually keep up with :)

PS sorry if my english sucks it's not my main language.

    again thanks everyone
    bye

It seems another MP-Skywarp is only a matter of time, Very unlikely that neither Hasbro nor Takara will miss out on an opportunity to sell a repaint.
