We're only talking non-show characters because they're the only things that could be made to exactly fit the same approach they're taking to Skids.

Best way they could do a show accurate Devastator is if they do what Zeta did with Superion and more notably Bruticus by giving them a bunch of fake parts. Which is how they were able to get the white Bruticus torso with a blue Onslaught.

 

Funny how zeta didn’t even capitalise on that idea till after they had already made it.

You might want to keep your eye on XTB's versions then. The first one just had initial prototype images released on their Facebook page...

I simply don't wish to support 3P. But They do look pretty great. If anyone does get them I hope they're great! And I'm sure they will be! I simply have decided to support official only.

 

That's fair enough. I think I'd err on that side too, if it wasn't for the fact I have zero confidence of TT doing the entire cast (or at least in a single style) anytime before I die.

As it is, I'm not a fan of KO of official products; although given the IP infringement that is 3P, I'm less against KOs of 3P stuff (although I have only got the KO of dx9 Powerglide).

Ironically, I've picked up loads if XTB's stuff, but have no desire for the Omnibots as they weren't in the cartoon.

I’ve owned quite a few of most prominent 3P company’s toys. I sold them all. I’m happy with my decision. They’re good and I like that they’re doing characters for people.

that aside I’m enjoying the ride that TT is doing. I know they won’t do all the characters I want. It simply won’t happen. But it’s much easier for me to just focus on official products. I’m able to double dip on all toys and I’m able to wholeheartedly support the people responsible for literally all my joy with transformers.

 

Yeah, I like a lot of the 3rd party versions but it's just so expensive to try to get everyone. It's much more reasonable to just stick with Hasbro and maybe pick up the occasional 3P of a figure that you know Hasbro will never do (Like any Combiner outside of maybe Devastator). I keep having to stop myself from buying FT Thomas. It's cool but I just don't need to spend $300+ on it.
