    Congratulations!

Although MP-09 Rodimus has a lot of nerve standing for a "long life" award.

I wonder if it is just a coincidence that all the MPs shown in the photos on the award site are Kobayashi's designs.

I am a big Kobayashi fan btw.

    Hehe.

Jokes aside, the Long Life Design award is for outstanding designs that are long selling. The MP series has been around for 13 years now (started with MP-1 in 2003) and is only getting more popular with time.

TakaraTomy's news release on the award cites him as the Development Team representative.

Maybe he got to choose which figures were photographed.

In a way it does but he does have the most releases and probably most seniority on the line. I think seniority still counts for something in Japan.

Well done Takara Tomy and Kobayashi. Well deserved for incredible work. Ultra Magnus, Ironhide, Shockwave, and Megatron, all the work of a mastermind.

Official Transformers fans can't thank you enough for making our dreams come true.

    P.S. I love you.

No MP-10 in the picture = fail. I know plenty of people like MP-1 better but for many MP-10 is the quintessential Masterpiece figure.

bit harsh none of hasui's design's are there as mp10 has been so popular and has probably sold way more than mp01 in all its incarnations so far , takara and hasbro releases

Overall, TT did a great job bringing the G1 fandom back to collecting.

Of course the avid collectors amongst us will have gripes about the figures but looking at the big picture I think TT did a great job.

Looking forward even though the very toon-aesthetic may not be for all of us, objectively they are still good designs and do deserve recognition.
